I was just thinking as to why Sega chose Nintendo to give Sonic exclusives to and revivals of several of their other franchises. They could've gone PS3 exclusive or something, but ended up Wii-bound. I'm guessing because of dev costs, and the success of the Sonic games.

And while we are at it, I think if A Boy and His Blob can come back after like 20 years, Alex Kidd can too.

Nintendo didn't run Sega out of the gaming industry. Sega fucked up and Sony kicked their asses out the door. Sega respects Nintendo. Besides they need money. I wouldn't call Sonic games a success these days either.

That depends on what you call success. Do the low metacritic scores take away from the success when your game sells 800k on the Wii after 33 1/2 months? The bank doesn't think so.

It's selling based on the name. Sonic after the first dreamcast title was a trainwreck. Sonic still to this day struggles to have a decent open world game.

Have you played all the open world games? I'm not trying to patronize, just asking an honest question.
