The Americans rule the games world. Japan used to in my books.

Well metacritic is made by Westerners, so ofcourse they score western games higher.

How about i take Famitsu scores and hand out points by their ratings?!?!

We must be looking at different Metacritics because last I looked Metacritic doesn't actually score games, they just average all reviews.

What i'm saying is 99% of the reviews taken into account for making up the metacritic score is from Western websites.

Of course the western games will get high scores.

Japan magazines/websites aren't taken into account.

And you're proof is where ? What if those Western websites are sick of always the same Western styled games and they give the Japanese games some extra points for being more creative (or whatever) ? I have no proof for my claim and you don't have any for yours.

If you can find reviews for a game from Famitsu and 49 other Asian sources, go for it. I doubt you'll see much difference to the Metascores.

Technically World of Warcraft is french due to being owned by Vivendi ;)

Bullshit. I never knew Irvine, CA was in France.

Canada isn't in the USA...

It's not in the United States, but is apart of North America.

What about God of War 2? and does it count handhelds too?

God of War is an American creation, but Sony owns the company. Actually, the majority of the companies that SCE owns are American Devs. Europe is in second and Japan is in third.

Yet.

Darnit! You beat me to it!

I'm going to ignore the rest of your post to look at the idea that Americans "might as well have invented music".

It is blinding me.

In your face classical composers! You've just been marginalized! USA! USA!

So American reviewers like games made in America. I guess that makes sense.

Blizzard, Valve.

Blizzard, bro. Blizzard.

The continent of North America is epic win for game developers.

As for "American critics" last time I checked, metacritic uses most english speaking review sources.

...but let me get this straight. Are you actually saying that North America doesn't produce the best videogames, and some other place does? Which place?

Not only do we make the best games, but we also invented the Internet, upon which you are speaking with me, and we might as well have invented movies, television, and music, because we certainly have a vast monopoly.

Our number one export is entertainment, and you can say a lot of shit about America, but there is one thing we've always been great at. Keeping you entertained.

I'm going to ignore the rest of your post to look at the idea that Americans "might as well have invented music".

A few things.

A. That was a turn of phrase, relevant to modern entertainment. It's not to say that America had any part in the creation of great music(though it did in part, with blues, rock and roll, ect), I'm saying that relevant, profitable music, comes from us, and in MODERN times, we're running the show, so while we DID NOT invent music, we certainly might as well have, as far as the profit and popularity scale are concerned.

B. Fucking Elvis.

Anyway, yes, I probably shouldn't have generalized music, as it is the most questionable of our monopolies, yet again, relevant modern music is America's stomping ground. Classical is a shrinking genre. Rap, R&B, even country and rock & roll. The casual music listener belongs to us now. You know this. We didn't invent it...but we might as well have.

Nintendo didn't invent videogames...but they might as well have.

That was my opinion. I find it valid.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

The Japan is games.

I'm going to give music to the brits.

Queen, Pink floyd, the police, the who, radiohead, the clash, the sex pistols, led zeppelin, rolling stones, the beatles.

That's some quality music.
