I can think of a dozen ways he could have stated his opinion without being so immature. For example:

"I hope that people don't use this as an opportunity to bash 1up over bias."

Instead he used a very inflammatory tone that is designed to make people have a reaction. I would hope a mod could set a better standard for behavior.

SSX Blur is largely a traditional game. I played it, it was great fun...I think it deserves at least a 7...I believe IGN rated it closer to 8. But 5.5 from 1Up? That's just ridiculous.

I'd say there's a fine line especially when, like you highlighted earlier, these sarcy opinions tend to be hit and run which says to me that they're probably not backed up by anything other than prejudice and bias. If you want to be part of a debate then it generally makes sense to respond to peoples counter-arguments.

I sense that you're trying to be diplomatic in this instance and I can't really fault you on it, imo you're one of the best posters on the site. Anyway ck's by no means a monster and I think I should lay off him now as there's far worse offences than upsetting folks on a VG forum.

I agree. That is the problem lately. He will jump in and jump out.

On the other hand, Shams is also very strong about his opinions, though he usually says what he believes, rather than making sarcastic/mocking remarks. In addition, he usually continually defends his posts.

Then again, we pretty much now were both of them stand with a lot of issues, so perhaps ck just doesn't feel like repeating the same stuff over and over, especially since his comments are usually replied to many many times.

I think people are over-reacting because of who said it.

If it was anyone else, it would be assumed his posting wasn't trolling... I think he was merely agreeing that 1up has a definite bias (no news here), has already been shown baised in the past, and that it's not worth having another posting about a bad review from them as it's a well established fact and known to most readers of the site already.

Just like people who complain of another wii spotted in the wild threads that pop up every week. We don't need an article every week when 1up does a new review of the latest wii game and gives it below 5/10. (BTW: I seen 3 at a local walmart yesterday when I bough MP3! I should make an effort to stop by today or tomorrow to see if they are still there or not.)

If you'd prefer I can pick a random day next week and anyone who posts anything even mildly offensive to anyone will get instantly banned for a week without warning. ;>

The point isn't that ckmlb is earning credits by posting in the news and what not, it's that there are far worse users on both sides of the fence who are still tolerated and his comment is not really even close to over the line there. I accept and believe in the 1up Wii bias myself and I'm still sick of hearing it, and I'm sure the PS3/360 fans are only more so.

Maybe he's just trying to increase his post count Seriously, though, he used to be more of a contributor than a one liner before he became a mod I may not agree with his opinions, but at least he used to stick around and defend them, and that earns a modicum of respect. Perhaps he can't defend it this time, since the facts appear to show a 1up bias against all Wii games. But I'll give him the benefit of a doubt. Perhaps "Mod"ly duties prevent him from serious participation.

But he got 4k+ posts because he would have to repeat the same stuff over and over and over to people. That gets annoying, for him.
