I'm kinda dissapointed ckmlb didn't defend himself..

I've always been rather hesitant to scream "bias!"

But looking at the evidence...I think it's safe to say 1up has something up it's tail pipe in regards to the Wii.

I think they're biased against poor games and the Wii unfortunatly seems to have more of those than the other systems so far. I mean look at games like Metroid Prime 3 (90%) and Zelda: Twilight Princess (100%), if they're reviewing a good quality game they usually give it a good score.

Oh and TheBigFatJ, I bet Super Mario Galaxy will get a 9.0 or above from 1UP.

Sarcasm, that was the word I was looking for. Ah BenKenobi is truly wise. Seriously though, I don't have a problem with mods having a favorite system or criticizing. They are human too and gaming press doesn't need to be AS objective as mainstream press. At least I feel that way on this site. But I also feel that they should hold themselves at a level that's higher than the majority of posters. The threads are tailored for people to come in and voice their oppinion(complain) and the mods are meant to be the ORDER. Keep people in line and be the clear voice once in awhile.

I just wanted to add that the mods on this site have a lot of tolerance though. I've seen people here get lots of chances for acting up where on other sites they would have got instantly banned. Too many sites now are so quick to ban people. Example: me criticizing a mod.

I don't think clocking up points on posting news and such should give anybody the right to then go out and be deliberately inciteful and make posts which in no way contribute to a discussion. I haven't noticed any of Sham's posts being of the same ilk as ckmlb's but if true then I hope he was called out on them aswell.

This forum is generally way ahead of a lot of other gaming sites' in terms of maturity and good debate, I think mods should be encouraging these attributes rather than undermining them.

All sites are biased against bad games, hence their poor scores.

Maybe 1UP will give Mario/Zelda/MPC good scores but if they can only appreciate traditional games then they shouldn't be reviewing a big chunk of Wii's library. Naztip's figures show that the site is way under the curve for ratings, there's simply no getting away from that. For the love of god if they don't have anybody on the payroll who appreciates the concept of Wii then hire somebody who does, or they could just continue to alienate fans of this gens market leader.

I have no problems at all with ckmlb as a mod. As far as his mod duties go, he's very fair. His post wasn't trolling it was a sarcastic opinion, which he uses a lot. I just wish he had decided to actually defend it for once. He is by no means a troll, he simply has very strong opinions. He has every right to express those. Just because he is a mod doesn't mean he should be a robot and never state his opinions to one side or the other.

He didn't insult anyone. You all really need to chill about this trolling mods crap. None of the mods on this site troll one way or the other. They get into heated debates and discussions at times, but they always remain civil. Most of the people who label mods as trolls are far worse.

Every reviewer is biased for or against each console to one degree or another.   1up just happens to be egregios.  Look at Madden NFL '07 -- it sucked for the 360.  There were fewer features, more bugs, etc than last gen versions.  Gamerankings has it lower than the gamecube, Wii, and way lower than the PS2 version of Madden '07.  1up gave Madden '07 a higher score on the 360 (7.5) than the Wii (6.5), bucking the trend.

Even sites like Ars complained that the 360 and PS3 had the worst versions of Madden '07 -- features found in previous versions of Madden were even cut.
