No company should leave. The more competition, the better for the consumer and industry.

Fanboy bias seems rampant in this thread. Quite sad. I kind of thought hardcore gamers were more intelligent.

No I just want SEGA back but we have to many consoles, somebody has to go let it be M$

I loved the Sega Dreamcast, a pity it died before its time, but if there are ever too many hardware companies in the industry, the market will determine who is to survive. If Sega re-enters the hardware market and it becomes crowded, it will adjust. Consumer spending will determine how that pans out.

At any rate, I wasn't speaking directly to you in my original post, but your post did seem somewhat biased after readng it.

Also note, I have a launch 360. It RROD(ed) once. I turned it off, unplugged it...then plugged it back in, and it's been playng fine since.

I'm not a fanboy, I just try to tip the balance in favor of logic and common sense.

I dont think any one should leave or come. What we have here is a beautiful setup a 3 way duel between 3 giants competition is swift

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

They better not. I know this may sound cheesy and everything but I like Sony's style. They do things their own way (Blu-Ray, Cell etc) and just symbolize Japanese quality craftsmanship. Their hardware to me always looks the most attractive and I've never had a Sony product break on me. So if they did leave the gaming hardware market, i'd be lost. :(

Trust me...Sony would break quicker than Nintendo. Have you tried breaking the Gamecube.

The Gamecube was my only console last generation to have any problems.

Ps2 was the shittiest console last gen in terms of reliability. I had 3 systems die from "Disc Read Error" and I think they even had a class action lawsuit against them for that very thing. However Sony did replace ALL my broken systems free of charge so I can't hate them. M$ is in that boat now with a class action lawsuit pending.

Exactly.

Well, your ideas of reliability are based on past experiences which differ from person to person. In General though, Sony products are reliable and suit my needs best so id be pissed if they stopped making Playstations. Sony's motto sums it up for me.....'Like No Other'

Ehh, then EU/JP doesn't have a console for hardcore games....

Since the 360 isn't really a option for a lot of people in Japan/Europe..

My ps1 still works. That should say enough. I got it right when it came out

not possible

the Playstation Brand is way to huge n successful now for them to just leave

BUT I feel they will have a HUGE overhaul of their strategy for PS4

I like it how people just suddenly forget we are not talking of some SEGA or ATARI here (who left.....the latter was influential....but SEGA....come on they didn't see much success anyway)....

we are talking about SONY & PLAYSTATION......a brand that has sold almost 300 Million + of hardware.

Exactly. The PSOne alone sold more than every Sega console ever made combined: 105 million vs. 71 million.

Exactly whenever people say (oh and many do) that SONY may leave Videogames just like SEGA

I chuckle on the inside....as really there is no comparison

SEGA never won a generation.....

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

I've never had a broken Sony product, but i've read up about it. I don't just relate things to myself. I have a much wider view than myself where things like this are concerned, thats all.

My PSX worked as well. I'm not narrowing things down to myself.
