They better not. I know this may sound cheesy and everything but I like Sony's style. They do things their own way (Blu-Ray, Cell etc) and just symbolize Japanese quality craftsmanship. Their hardware to me always looks the most attractive and I've never had a Sony product break on me. So if they did leave the gaming hardware market, i'd be lost. :(

Trust me...Sony would break quicker than Nintendo. Have you tried breaking the Gamecube.

Well Sony products are still of very high standard and reliability. I don't own any Nintendo products so I cant comment on them.

Sony is the last company I want to see leave the hardware side of things. If anything M$ would be the one to do that. There hardware is crap. Sony needs to continue to push the hardware specs higher and Nintendo needs to start making games for Sony hardware. It would be the best of both worlds.

Clear bias when last gen the Xbox technology-wise was superior the PS2 in every way possible. The 360 was pushed. This is such a deep rooted fanboyism that it sickens me.

I think he is talking about how the 360 breaks if you look at it wrong lol.

"If anything M$ would be the one to do that. There hardware is crap." Obviously you didn't properly read this part. Their hardware includes the original Xbox. Biased fanboys only percieve what they want instead of looking at the bigger picture.

or perhaps last gen doesnt matter? Who says sony still have the best games etc etc. Why forget about the PS2 but not the xbox?

You're seeing it opposite of how it was written. The Microsoft product is good, it's just that this gen the system was rushed. When he says "Their hardware" (Which he spelled wrong as well) he speaks of both systems. He never specified a gen, so your defense is not needed. The PS2 had far more breakdowns than the Xbox last gen (Not to say that it was as great as this gen) and it was vastly inferior to the Xbox in terms of quality.

Hmmmm.....you're missing out.

No company should leave. The more competition, the better for the consumer and industry.

Fanboy bias seems rampant in this thread. Quite sad. I kind of thought hardcore gamers were more intelligent.

I'm not a fanboy, I just try to tip the balance in favor of logic and common sense.

The Gamecube was my only console last generation to have any problems.

Well, I certainly don't think so :p

I'm just not into Mario and the rest of them, I'd take Snake or Kratos any day.

not possible

the Playstation Brand is way to huge n successful now for them to just leave

BUT I feel they will have a HUGE overhaul of their strategy for PS4

I like it how people just suddenly forget we are not talking of some SEGA or ATARI here (who left.....the latter was influential....but SEGA....come on they didn't see much success anyway)....

we are talking about SONY & PLAYSTATION......a brand that has sold almost 300 Million + of hardware.

Exactly. The PSOne alone sold more than every Sega console ever made combined: 105 million vs. 71 million.

All my old Nintendo products are alive and kicking.

The Nes,SNES, GB, Gameboy Pocket, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, GBASP, GBM, Gamecube,N64

that shit never breaks.

My Ps2 died on me about 4months after I got my PS3...I think it felt neglected. Xbox is still here but I bought it shortly before the 360 was announced....Im still a little sour on that one

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

Ps2 was the shittiest console last gen in terms of reliability. I had 3 systems die from "Disc Read Error" and I think they even had a class action lawsuit against them for that very thing. However Sony did replace ALL my broken systems free of charge so I can't hate them. M$ is in that boat now with a class action lawsuit pending.
