FF 7 is the probably one of the 5 best games of all time......but that is not why i am replying to you..........

I saw what you are currently playing and noticed Tecmo Super Bowl for NES...awesome.......and with that being said,

I would politely crush YOU, any of your friends that you play with, anyone on this website, doesnt matter because i will win each and every time

Probaly, I was always middle of the pack when it came to tecmo superbowl among my friends and I mostly play as the Eagles.  Gotta love Randal Cun.... I mean QB Eagles.

Against my friend Chris though it'd probably be different.  He has every play memorized by the formation and can instantly sack you as you snap the ball unless you are in shotgun formation.  It's ridiculious.

((((( Just a point about FF7 (I didn't read the whole thread)

It is just that FF7 is, in general, the FIRST FF that Europeans player have played

so yes in europe, FF7, owns every FF from the I to the XII ...
in term of hype, fun, "nostalgy" etc ...

I dont know for the rest of the world )))))

Time to Work !

Wait... honestly how could a new FF7 outsell the old one? Everyone who likes FF7 has bought the old one right? Thats like saying 20 kids buy a popsicle; after they eat it all 20 kids decide to buy the same popsicle again... plus another 5 people decide to buy it. Problem is when the first popsicle was sold there were 100 kids with enough money to buy it, now there are 15 kids... and you expect 25 sales?

FF games are selling between 500-700.000 less for every installment now it seems.

Yeah thats true. And thats significant, because it shows that not only is the franchise based on a solid core following rather than expansion, but that this core is shrinking.

I expected XII to MASSIVELY increase the following because it was action-based. My reasoning is that Japan seems to be shifting away from its love for turn-based gaming (slowly but surely) and the USA is definately action-orientated. As such, i conclude that XII's comparitively weak sales were due to a franchise decline. It definately cant be blamed on graphics, because along with GoWII, FFII had the best graphics on PS2.

FFXIII will shift some PS3's, but i doubt if the bumb will be as big as many are thinking. Just as the Halo 3 bump to 360 wont be as big as many are thinking. And for the same reasons. Many people that are hard core final fantasy lovers will already have a PS3.

However, while i do think FF is dying, it will be dying for a LONG time if you know what i mean. And despite this, i still cant convince myself it will come to the 360, even though i wish it would. Although to suggest that there is zero chance of it as some have is simply stupid

Agree, on all points. So long as SE is a "free" developer not cahined to one major stockholder with a clear bias, their products are pretty much fair game for anyone with a decent bid! Perhaps in the future, SE will kill the FF franchise and start putting equal or even greater resources into a new series. And about FFXII; many FF fans I know were a bit startled at the gameplay this time around since it's very different, especially in combat. I personally liked it, and I'm hoping they'll choose a similar route for XIII when it hits.

You are all wrong, can´t you see that FF:VII fans are now 10 years older, have more money, and have gone insane playing it over and over again. They will not just buy one copy of the game they will also not buy only one PS3 to play it. They will buy one PS3 and one copy of FF:VII for every room in their house. It will sell at least 50 mil. and move just as many PS3s, everything else is Fanboy rant and you know it.

All the above considered.  No FFVII remake coming out in the next three years would sell 10 million copies.  In fact, it wouldnt come close.  The only time it would even be conceivable is if the PS3 userbase was at about 60million
