I have never spent $4.96 in my life.

However, for cheap games:

Eternal Darkness - £5
Okami (Wii) - £12 (New!)
Perfect Dark - £3

Although I found out when I got home Perfect Dark was a pretty poor game without an expansion pak, so I had to spend £11 on one of those.

well, I got Elite Beat Agents for free, along with a $5.51 DSLite case and 4 styli. Or maybe they all came together for the same price, however you want to look at it. I got mine at walmart in one of the startup packs that they were clearancing cause they had it SOOOOO long.

As for the best actual 4.96, I'd have to say a grilled chicken wrap for lunch

Closest purchase I ever bought that was even close to $4.96 was Metal Gear Solid 2 for $4.99. Glad it wasn't that big of a loss 'cause it sure wasn't worth it. Best I spent though was probably Jak & Daxter for the PS2 which might have been a little over or under, I can't remember.
