Apparently after you beat the game you can replay at as the three different knights (Blaze, Knuckles, and Shadow). I'm not that far yet, but I can't wait to play as Sir Gawain.

@c03n3nj0

And you're right. It isn't a bad game in any sense of the word from what I've been playing. Ever since I saw that big ol' 3.9, I've been asking myself "What could warrant this score?". So far, I really can't find anything.

@Rol

Exactly.

@Zap

Thanks, and I hope you like it.

So you have to beat the game to play as Knuckles. Then my mission is set. Buy the game, then tear ass through it, then replay the game as Knuckles and savor every second of it.

All set to happen when i actually get around to the game, though.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Smeags, what is the better Sonic game to get if you've never played a 3D sonic, Sonic Unleashed or Black Knight?

Sonic Heroes. You only need to know how to work around the bugs.

Weird, Sonic Heroes is my least favorite 3d Sonic game by far. I haven't played Sonic the Hedgehog PS3/360 though.

Chrizum, Sonic Unleashed is a great game to play if you haven't yet. It has some amazing levels, and the last level is to die for! The only bad part of the game is that in the later werehog levels, it gets a bit glitchy, tediously hard, and boring. Think of it this way though, once you beat the game you can just play the day time levels over and over!

Smeags, I just thought of a question, does this game run you through the levels very linearly, or are there multiple paths to take?

From what I've played, the game is pretty linear. Still, there are definitely areas in which there are multiple paths to trek across, earning you more faries and other goodies.

Speaking of which, here's one important thing I forgot to mention: In Sonic & the Secret Rings one of the complaints was that you had multiple missions for one level. First you completed the whole level (which was fantastic), but then you had to go back and collect rings/break pots/kill enemies etc. for that same level. For many It got pretty tedious.

In Black Knight (from what I've played so far), there is no such thing. Each different mission/level takes place in a different location. Although the overworld may be the same (Castle, Misty Lake, Plains, etc.), the area in which you play each individual level is different than the one before. Definitely a major plus!

Sounds great! The missions did get a bit tedious in Secret Rings, so I'm glad to see they've changed it around a bit.

I do hope that in future Sonic games there are many different complex ways to travel, much like in the 2d games. Unleashed had a few cool and complex ways to travel, but I want moaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Ah man, all this excitement has gotten me too antsy. I have to go play through Sonic Unleashed now! It'll hold me over until this game arrives. :P

There's just something about Sonic...

Ooh, tough bosses. I took 10 years to beat the last boss of Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Had it for the genesis, never beat Robotnick. Then beat him on the VC.

Nice impressions Smeags! I'm interested in this.

As someone who has played up to the Lancelot fight, I would like to agree with Smeags Impressions.

Also, I only got one star against Lancelot as well.
The game has helper videos in the extra menus, after watching the one about lancelot, I realized I never once used the block button during the fight.

"To love and to cherish, in sickness and in health, for as long you shall be resurrected from death in the church"

Nice impression. I agree with it from I have experienced so far. Lol, I got 5 stars on my first try against Lancelot.  Too easy.  Gawain is the one who is kind of hard.  Haven't beaten him yet. (Waits for Wii Remote batteries to recharge...)

Btw, I can make vids if wanted, people.  Ask and ye shall recieve although I'm not too far in the game yet.  Making one of Titanic Plains at the moment.  Woot, got highest rank for mission 1 on the leaderboards!

Cool, I'll get this game eventually. Thanks for posting this.

I've lost all respect for IGN. They gave that waggle-fest Onechanbara a 6.9, despite it having no plot (that can be figured out), no point other than objectifying girls, mediocore graphics and mindless waggling to fight.

Then they gave the fun but slightly flawed Dead Rising the same score and then Sonic here 3.9 which is a beautiful game because of waggle combat? Huh?

And they gave We Ski and Snowboard a 5.something because all the slopes are unlocked from the get go. And the reviewer sacked himself with the nunchuk cord. No complaints about the graphics or gameplay (other than it's simple) just ranted because all you can unlock is costumes. Like that matters in that game.

Sorry, but IGN has completely lost any creditability.

OT: Never been a Sonic fan but the added sword-play looks interesting. Think I'll rent it.

I like hard bosses. :)

This game went from a no-no to a possible future maybe.
