I don't know.
It all smacks of the same short-sighted development mindset that we used to see with PC developers towards consoles, if you ask me. Consoles always got bottom priority for ports, in every department (but especially in quality). I always found it funny that they declared consoles to be unprofitable business in light of the fact that they were basically putting in the absolute minimum of effort...
Funnily enough, a lot of those PC developers who took that attitude don't exist any longer. And the ones who continue to exist are most all making console versions of their games which are close to equal in quality to their PC versions.
Sky Render - Sanity is for the weak.

Gamerace, Wii version was announced oficiallly on Ubidays the past year, not any image or video was released, but it´s real. Here is the page where the first confirmation was done:
http://dswii.es/8573/primicia-tom-clancys-hawx-llegara-a-wii/
It´s not in english, but resuming talks they send a message to Ubisoft press ofice to confirm a rumor about an embargue from nintendo for ubisoft, because their games were too much of their games sucks, and Ubisoft answered with some arguments, and send back a list with the games they will release on WII: HAWX was confirmed to them much tiem before than IGN make the announce.

Because this is the same company who sat on a Wii port of two Brothers in Arms games for over a year, just so they could release it alongside the the new Brothers in Arms game on the HD consoles. |
Yeah, that sounds about right.
Reminds me of another splendid example, Pro Evolution Soccer (which is just one of the most important sports IPs out there).
PES 2008: Oct.'07 (PS2/PS3/360/PC) -> March '08 (Wii)
PES 2009: Oct.'08 (PS2/PS3/360/PC) -> March '09 (Wii)
Must be hard to develop for these controls, even the 2nd time.

@okr
Don't even get me started on Konami. I'm seriously contemplating getting my Wii modded to get PES09. They don't deserve my money a 2nd time for a game that comes out 5 months after the HD version & more than half way through the soccer season.
OT: I've had enough of crappy Ubi ports. Give me new Rayman platformer already.

At least PES08 was a good game. I do wonder about the timing of it and other sports games (Moto GP 08) as to why they were late.
And as for Rayman, when was the last time he made a platform game? The Jaguar?
I am Mario.I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble. Wii Friend Code: 1624 6601 1126 1492 NNID: Mike_INTV |
If PES09 for the Wii is using the new engine, I'm sure the extra development time will be well worth it.
On-topic: Does any Wii owner seriously care about Hawx? (Asking because I know I don't, for Wii or PS3).

This cause based on everything I've been seeing the extra time is needed.
...And on too that...could that be WHY some companies do release Wii versions later? To improve the game say for example like Take-Two did with Dong King Prize Fighter? I know it's far fetched but HEY who has the answers right?
The Interweb is about overreaction, this is what makes it great!
...Imagine how boring the interweb would be if everyone thought logically?

I think they call it Starfox.
