Topic starter has a habit of trolling on Nintendo. Example:
| BTFeather55 said: lt is no more overrated than Ocarina of Time is which was only rated as highly as it was because it was made by Nintendo and reviewed at a time when Nintendo had to have a big score to show the N64 wasn't totally worthless. Actually, FFVII-XII and MGS 1-4 and some of the GTA games including IV are all better games than TLOZOOT and the subsequent Zeldas. |
This in a thread about FFVII...
OT:
"I predicted Wii sales would begin to slow down much as they have in Japan recently"
Let's ignore the fact that it's up YOY elsewhere and that console sales in Japan are low across the board.
"This idea was trounced upon by the Nintendo Wii fans who almost all said the Wii would be at or past 50 million in sales by the end of March."
Actually, this was a common belief among anyone who could compute basic math. Others have already pointed out that the adjustments have made these predictions null and void. Nintendo expects to ship around this ballpark figure by the end of the month. I guess the Wii is going to die now because it's going to miss this figure within the margin of error.
"Also, 150,000 a week in Europe isn't staggeringly high imo. My overall prediction about the Wii is that without pricecuts etc, then it will have a harder time selling its second fifty million than its first."
...in comparison to what, exactly? See TWRoO's response.
"Nintendo failed to really give gamers what they wanted in '08 and that is being reflected in their lowered sales numbers in Japan while 360 and PS3 numbers have close to being as high or have been even higher as of late."
Then why, praytell, are their software sales so high? Some games are outselling Sony's console on a weekly basis. I think the gamers are getting what they want. The core gamers have seen a release from many of Nintendo's major franchise in little over 2 years.
Just because you want the Wii to stop selling, doesn't mean that it will. Try again.
