Forums - Nintendo - IGN Reviews Sonic & the Black Knight (Ruh Roh!)

Wow... it looked great from the trailers.

Still, i'll try it for myself.

"It's fairly likely that the next time they give a Wii exclusive a high score, no one will be complaining about things like the author using the word "retarded" in the review. Seriously, what a minor thing to complain about."

I would, and it's not minor. Insulting anything like that is not journalism. It's barely even yellow journalism.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Maybe Sega should just ask Miyamoto to help out just one time?
Just to steer Sonic in the right direction...

So they didn't rate it on what it was but on what they thought it should have been. Funny considering that isn't how your supposed to review games.

No one ever has problems making bad statements about Sonic but when it comes to generic shooters they could care less. Just saddening how little some of these reviewers care about proper reviews instead of their own personal interests. I'm sure the game didn't deserve 8s or 9s or even 7s but a 3.9 was not the score that game should have been given reading the review. That's just unprofessional.

Come on now Zucas. I think just want a good Sonic game.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Honestly, I think most reviews will be closer to the NP-review than the IGN-review. I haven't played the game yet, but just judging by what I've seen, I can't imagine this to be a 3.9-game.

i was thinking more like a 6.0 but this !_! ?

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

Oh its just IGN.

For a secound there I thought it was a good video game review site.  Then I relised there was none.

Funny - this review is pretty much what I consider "Secret Rings" to be - great engine, great graphics - ruined by poor input, and poor design decisions. Sounds like typical Sonic...

For the record, IGN have gone downhill ever since Fox bought them out. They really are irrelevant these days - especially since the WiiMusic "failed" debacle.

This one's by Matt too. The use of the word "retarded" in there is unusually juvenile and unprofessional for him. He and his team have really gone downhill since E3 last year. You'd think Nintendo had stolen their puppies and eaten their children or something.

I think he has been rejected by Cammy at E3 last year...

In fairness, all gaming media has become irrelevant. They're no more or less relevant than anyone else.

In a way it's a good thing, reviews are happening in more mainstream magazines etc. as well as the fact that getting your info by word of mouth is healthier than getting caught up in hype or trusting potentially influenced journalists.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.
