Forums - Nintendo - Destructoid give Dead Rising: CTYD 8/10

I'm not going to get into any arguements about the games quality because at this stage it's gotten really old and boring.

Having said that, I felt the need to post this link since I've been playing this game non-stop since I got it, it really is great.

It's quite sad to see the way game journalists have treated CTYD. I think a lot of them need to grow up.

The irony is this is when those argument are supposed to start, not months before anyone has actually played it.

They've been immature for a while.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Hmmm. That's quite a bit higher than the average.

I was interested in this game and i heard alot of good stuff from people who actually played it.

A guy that completed the game confirmed that everything from that developer interview ended up being true.

Sorry haters but this is a buy for me.

Yeah, I still think I'll try it at some point before I buy. I'm interested in all those extras, like fighting all the game's bosses at once!

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

You won't regret it too much.

My initial impressions were that it was alright, but it did get a little more fun in the latter half, and I enjoy the new Odd Jobs mode they threw in at the end. Still not a stellar game by any stretch, but you could do far, far worse.

Yeah, I'm definately picking this up. Looks like good fun.

This appears to be a case of people not reviewing the game based upon its own merits but only in comparison to another version of the game on a different system with different controls and different graphics.

In other words, if you look at the game on its own objectively, it does not seem to be half-bad.

I am Mario.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

But even for them, the game is "meh", not utter crap.
