Msoft: I Doubt We've Seen the Last of Master Chief

Speaking to USA Today, Halo franchise development director Frank O'Connor hints that we may have more Master Chief in store for us in the future.

"I doubt we have seen the last of Master Chief," O'Connor told the paper. The bulk of the article is about upcoming Halo 3: ODST, which O'Connor says is significantly more than an add-on.

"It's a lot of game. You play the game through the point of view of an ODST. They are dropped into combat from orbit. They have a rivalry with the Spartans that is well known to the fans of the fiction. We finally let you into their boots as it were. …It's kind of a detective story in a way. But it is much more action-packed than that."

The ODST comic hitting this summer is meant to fill in more of the background on these "Navy SEALs of the Halo Universe."

Awesome. After playing Halo Wars, I cannot get enough of Halo or Masterchief. Seriously It is definately my top franchise ever now. Halo Wars being my Fave game at the moment. Says alot. :)

i kinda figured he would be bback y else for that ending to halo(the one after the credits)

 And if you read the books, Halo could take a turn for the awsome. (If the planet is what most believe it is then Master Chief has a couple of old friends waiting to find him.)

well of course they're not done with MC. There wouldn't even be an Xbox 360 without the Halo franchise. They could live without Chief now because they have gears and Mass effect and other games.

I bet "Halo 4" is some kind of prequel since 3 was the last one.

I'm glad we'll see more Master Chief. I've always loved him as a protaganist. Hopefully we'll see him in more genre's than First Person Shooters though.
