Forums - Microsoft - What microsoft need to do to conquer Europe and Japan?

It's pretty much all about image in Europe I believe. Japan on the other hand... Image, games, and being foreign. And say whatever you want, the whole box (the console itself, that is) looks pretty American to me. I don't know if I thought this way if I didn't actually know but I suppose most know MS if American anyway. Then again, I don't know if its looks actually matter in Japan.

Ummmmm since when did europe start hating all things American?

Didn't America save Europe from 2 world wars last century?

Not sure why they would be anti-american since Americans paid billions of dollars to rebuild their countries.

i know this is not even on topic and i fear for what may come of it..so i make it brief  ,  i think its not about what the u.s did 60 years ago but what they did the last 8 years... the clinton  era might not have been the best for america.. but it was a good period for pro americanism..  its hard to explain but in my generation america was that guy that eveybody wanted to become when he grew up.and everything american was automatically cool. that was until it showed how ugly and single minded  a country can become  and thus everything american is viewed with... scepticism to say the least since that texan became president.. but there is a chance for that to change with the new president actually we all have high hopes that the american society will be what it should be again

The history is past. The present is now.

People generally can't give a shit about what happened 3 years ago when it comes to general trends, let alone half a century ago.

Both europeans and japanese seems to don't like microsoft consoles, Japan is easier to understand the 360 hard times over there. But what about europe? Even the 360 having more shooters, having the same soccer franchises, near the same games and lower price it just is having hard time with ps3. Gran Turismo is the explanation? Microsoft seems to be concerning about conquering japan with SHMUPS, RPGs,Mecha and other strange stuff while europe looks forgotten.

It´s time to Microsoft make her movies with exclusivity of racing games, soccer exclusive, maybe creating her own franchise of soccer, realese more game based in European culture and history and etc. I wan't to see the 360 at least 10 million ahead of ps3 in Europe alone at the end of generation and reach 2 million consoles in Japan.(unrealistic expecatives, I know...)

First, I'd like to point out that microsoft is still ahead of sony in europe. It's been consistently outselling the competition for half a year.

Second, what microsoft needs is proper marketing. While Texans and Californians are different guys, the differences between european countries (cultural differencies) are larger. AKA unified strategies and advertisement campaigns for the whole continent won't work.

Current-gen game collection uploaded on the profile, full of win and good games; also most of my PC games. Lucasfilm Games/LucasArts 1982-2008 (Requiescat In Pace).

Don't dare to make an new soccer game, or feel the wraith of E "evil empire" A

So basically you are saying history doesn't matter.  Okay whatever.  It probably would have mattered if you were speaking German or Russian right now under communist rulers.

People should have more respect for America, the country that gave them the freedom to speak freely.

The next time russia cuts of europe's gas supplies or Iran launches a nuke your way I hope you condescending ungrateful europeans won't be looking for America to help you out.

Well Microsoft is doing quite well in Europe now and in Japan if u compare it to last gen.

The US helps Europe with gas supplies? Iran is stupid enough to launch nukes they don't have the money for to research?
