Once again, Nintendo hype runs away with itself. I also find it interesting that Nintendo is, once again, doing something strange and unexpected in lieu of doing what should have been painfully obvious (i.e. making Excite Truck 2 with online and tighter graphics)

Nope. No need. Need a more solid pure racing game like that, buy Mario Kart. This is pure arcade fun and basing it solely on the first build with new vehicles, tricks, and online is going to be a blast w/ my wii wheels.

Except apparently the core gamers. The ones who stuck by the company and invested in thier products during N64/GC era when Sony & MS stole the show. The last core game was Disaster: Day of Crises which nintendo didn't even bother promoting or marketing and may not even see a US release. The last proper title was Super Smash Bros Brawl (Mario Kart is a 'bridge' title tbh, not really core or expanded but a happy medium, like Animal Crossing). Re-releasing GC games don't count because to core gamers thier old news and a further sign Nintendo would rather rerelease then attempt innovation or risk by doing any form of core game. Making games for a new 'expanded' audience is fine and good, but they're not the only audience. Nintendo seems to be forgetting that.

I must agree on almost everything with you, but I strongly suggest you to wait until E3 or whatever. I'm sure Nintendo still have a good amount of core games.

Apparently, the answer to 'why bots and not trucks?' is that they tried trucks, but felt they weren't insane enough for the incredibly insane gameplay they came up with.

Basically every 3rd party in the world is making kiddy crap for your console and then you decide as Nintendo that what we really need is a reboot of an awesome arcade racer into something with colourfull robots and footballs...

I'm sure it will at the very least be good. It's pretty much Excite Truck with truck taken out and replaced with Bots and online play.

I feel a little better after reading that, but I think I'll need to see some video before I'm sold.

Well I never really liked Excite Trucks so can't say I'm too keen on this right now. But of course will wait for gameplay videos to see how it plays. Right now it's the online thing that's keeping my interest but of course why not just play Mario Kart Wii.

And once again people complain for no reason. Like someone told Kylie last week... all you do is bitch and complain and it is annoying. Seriously if knowing Pikmin, Zelda, Punch Out, etc are in the works isn't good enough for you then it's time you find a new console or developer to love. Otherwise I'm tired of you giving me a bad name and turning every thread into an emo therapy session.
