Darth you really need to learn how to make a decent thread, first the "killzone 2 does 750k first week" and now this. Leave the sales threads to Star Scream and BKK2. ;)

No-one except for you and BKK2 seem to be having a problem with my threads

as for the killzone 2 thread (which has amassed 100 + posts.....it won't have 100 posts if people hated the thread),.......you came in it & once again started to whine about it....

If you don't like a thread I suggest you do 4 things:

1. make a better one & prove my one was bad

2. don't post in it (ignore it if it makes you so angry)

3. Message me about it

4. Report it

apart from you yesterday & BKK2 today no-one else seems to be complaining about threads

I have huge issues with your misleading thread titles, contradicting OP's, and basically crappy reporting...

But you think I say this because of the console I play... so its actually nice to see others who have the same issues.

"wii" is the most popular franchise ATM

okay, right.  i will retract my 'second largest franchise' statment but i stand by my point.  I took a quick look at the sales for halo3 - first week:3.8M LTD:9.1M.  to be tracking under hz2 which is around 0.75M+ according to brett is still sad to me.

*cough* *Europe* *cough*

Halo 3's first week was 900k ... and not 3.8M

I really need a Halls...

Edit: Unless you are referring to WW.. I'm just a little confused cause your using WW numbers in a PAL thread

well 0.75M is kz2's WW figure and halo wars is tracking under that.  so i guess i was extending the european behaviour to america behaviour which may not be fair. we'll find out soon enough but i still thought the halo name would carry halo wars more than it did...

not surpised. her ein the Uk particularly killzone 2 has got a ton more more marketing than halo wars from ive seen

also Dawn of War II was released not that long ago and will have taken some sales. it probably had a minimal impact tho

I think the Halo Wars sales were fair, considering it had no hype and relatively little advertising. Also, these sales should factor in that it has yet to be released in NA, the 360's stronghold.

It's simple, there are:

1. Hardcore Halo fans, those that everything Halo is for them, they buy whatever is on the Halo name, follow the story, etc., those fans are not the majority...

2. Casual Halo fans, the real majority here, those who only want a Halo shooter to PWN 50M3 N00820R5 W17H H34D5H075, they're usually in school or college (frat boys included), they don't want to know about a RTS, in fact a lot of them are trying Halo Wars because they don't know is not a shooter, some will like it most of them wont...

3. RTS fans (myself included), usually prefer PC ones over console ones, some are trying Halo Wars because it's  Ensemble Studios and want to know if it's possible a great console RTS...

AND 4. Shooter fans who don't like RTS, they won't buy Halo Wars for any reason...

So the only ones buying Halo Wars are the Hardcore Halo fans, a little portion of the casual Halo fans, and some RTS fans, enough to be a million seller, but not to make half of a main Halo title...

I'd really love to know why people are bashing the sales of a console based Real Time Strategy game.

Has ANYONE ever bothered looking at the sales history of Real Time Strategy games? C&C3? C&C: RA? LOTR:BFME2? EndWar? They are pretty bad.

Then we get Halo Wars which has sold around 200,000 units between Europe and Japan on Week-1, and that's BAD? Do you realize it may outsell every RTS in just 1 week? How is that bad?

Having a console RTS million seller, Halo or not, is a very large feat. Name the last RTS that sold over a million? Heck, Halo Wars may outsell every console RTS combined that the 360 has ever offered. Is that not a feat?

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Well, gaf is extrapolating based on old charttrack numbers saying Halo Wars sold about 80k, and that Killzone 2 is somewhere between that and 108k (GT5P week 1) for UK.
