Forums - Nintendo - Am I the only one who thinks Red Steel 2 will have a Motion Plus Bundle?

I think it will as Nintendo know wii sports resorts is enough on it's own to sell it to the causals but they need a hardcore draw and RS2 will be it.

Ubisoft have sussed the Wii as SWS was a good quality game, RRR is an IP in it's own right these days, RS was a well known, successfull launch title, Turtles promises to do well (even if it's ubisoft doing the promising) and Nintendo must love them right now.

They will support Ubisoft the same way they are supporting Sega with the M&S franchise and the same way they're supporting EA with the Tiger Woods and Grand Slam Tennis Bundles.

Indeed, Ubisoft have said a number of times that Nintendo treat them as a 2nd party and they knew about Wii MotionPlus a few months before E3 last year.

Also as you say, Ubisoft have created the Rabbids which is now a solid franchise and will hopefully gain more popularity with Rabbids Go Home. SWS was also a very solid title from Ubisoft that utilized the balance board well enough for the game to be a feature at Nintendo's E3 2008 crap conference and sell a million of course.

You brought up TMNT: Smash Up! and I think it'll play well off of the Super Smash Bros. style gameplay. It's interesting to note how well Ubisoft's titles match the Wii while not being complete copy cats..

Red Steel I suspect was a partnership of sorts with Nintendo perhaps asking Ubisoft to make an action title for Wii's launch. I expect Red Steel 2 to be very similar in that it'll show the capabilities of Wii, now with M+ and also most likely refine the shooter mechanics and take full advantage of the online services Wii has to offer.

I expect both Rabbids Go Home and Red Steel 2 to feature at Nintendo's 2009 E3 Press Conference.

Well stof, considering that this game is a WM+ exclusive, at this point I don't see how it won't be bundled.

Good job on the prediction!

Thanks wfz. Though I wish I spent more time on that very factor. I mentioned briefly that the game might only be able to work with a M+ based control method, but I should have played that one up further. Of course this isn't actually a confirmation of a bundle just yet. Not just yet...
But just to celebrate my apparent rightness. Here's the trailer!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

Hmm I just relized, Are they going to give new Wii Mote and WM+ covers with the WM+? Because the old one wont work with he WM+ attached. They show him attaching the WM+ to the mote in the video without a cover and then it magically has one and it fits. Wonder what they are going to do.

I am still predicting that it wont be bundled with the Wii Motion Plus. So there, Mr. Stof.

if red steel plays anything like that trailer then Wii owners have alot to look forward to . The original red steel was the game that made me want to buy the Wii but it disapointed , maybe this one will change my mind.

I like Bacon - I don't think it will, I think it will only come with 1st party titles. But I could be wrong

Galaki - Doubt it. Only official Nintendo games will carry official Nintendo add-ons.

Chrizum - I doubt it, Nintendo hates third party bundles. They want all the cash for themselves.

It would be awesome if it happened though.

TomaTito - Yes you are. Only one game will have M+ bundled and that is WSR. The rest of M+ adapters you will have to buy separately.

Gamerace - I'm sure Ubisoft would be all for that but I don't see Nintendo doing it

Pretendo - Doubt it. (>'.')>

Wyku - Highly unlikely.  Doesn't it already come with Wii Sports Resort?

MANUELF - Yes, you are. I don't think Nintendo would want to do that

amp316 - No. This would take away sales from Wii Sports Resort and Nintendo wouldn't want that. I do think that Red Steel 2 would be the ideal game to have a Wii Motion + bundled with it, but I don't see it happening.

dark_gh0st_b0y  - Nintendo is selfish, they would never bundle something they made with a product of another company

tuoyo - I agree(that it won't).  And I am more hoping that Wii Sports Resort comes with 2 WM+ than for WM+ to come with Red Steel 2.  Of course it is very unlikely that Nintendo would be that generous but no harm in hoping.

Sledge - you just don't know what your talking about

axumblade - I agree.  And I am more hoping that Wii Sports Resort comes with 2 WM+ than for WM+ to come with Red Steel 2.  Of course it is very unlikely that Nintendo would be that generous but no harm in hoping.

L.C.E.C. - I hope so... but I don't think it's likely...

YesWiiCan - If they bundle it with every single game that uses Wiimotion plus then people would have more Wiimotion plus than remotes.

Well there it is, all the doubters compilled. I like Sledge's contribution the most. But the only poster that really matters right now is Gamerace, as he's the guy that took the bet. Our original bet was a VC game. However, since I'm living in Korea, I'm not sure if that will even work. Can you gift VC games to people in different regions?

Wasn't this announced a week ago -- proving Stof correct.

Red Steel 2 hitting store shelves in Wii MotionPlus bundle

by Griffin McElroy { Jun 1st 2009 at 9:03PM } Nintendo

As one would assume, a samurai western video game with a heavy focus on the implementation of a peripheral that allows for alleged 1:1 digital sword maneuvering will be hitting store shelves bundled with said attachment. Or, to put it in monosyllabic terms, we just learned at the Ubisoft press conference that the Wii MotionPlus exclusive Red Steel 2 will be bundled with Wii MotionPlus at launch. Are you like, totally surprised?
