Forums - General - Gamefly?

Anyone have any experience with Gamefly?  Do they get all the games?  How soon after their release do the games arrive at your door?  Bad disks?  And what is the send/receive turn-over like?  I use Netflix and if I send out a movie on Monday I'll get another by Wednesday.

Thanks for your input.

they are a lot slower than netflix, but its not too bad...usually a 4 day turnaround time for me. then again I don't live anywhere near a shipping plant.

1-2 days for them to get the game and 1-2 days for you to get the game, for me atleast. Not bad considering you'll generally hold on to a game much longer than a movie so you're not switching up as often.

Also they have almost every game that is disc based on there. They generally ship out the new games the day of or the day before they release. The only problem is that if there is high demand you may be on a waiting list for a game when it is new. generally if i want a game I take out all the games from my Que so that they don't send me a different one. It may take 1-3 days longer to get the game if I don't get it right away but it insures I get that game and don't get a different one.

If a disc doesn't work you just send it back and get a new one. I think you can report a bad disk and they will send you a new one before they even get yours back.

It's also a good place to buy used games. The prices are generally cheaper than gamestop and every three months you get a $5 coupon which helps, though they are not cumulative. Except one time my previous coupon didn't expire till the day after i got my new one so I got to use both on one purchase. And on certain holidays they'll give you an additional coupon so sometimes you can get good games for under $20. Plus the cases and manuals are always in perfect condition and you can play the game before you buy it.

Oh and I just thought of something. If you are going to sign up please let me know so I can refer you and get a coupon or whatever it is they give you for friend referrals. I would appreciate it. Thanks!

Ahhh, gamefly, that takes me back, they are pretty reliable if I remember. a little slow, but so is everyone

I've always wanted to get Gamefly, too much money though...

Gamefly is good especially if you don't have a lot of money. I like it, but they're really slow. It can take up to a week for me to get a game in the mail..and i'm impatient. It takes a long time to get the rare games though, they seem to always skip over them. I've never had an issue with bad disks. I definitley think its worth it, especially for games you'd never play again.

My daughter is my world.

Gamefly is great, strongly recommended by me. Yes, they are slower than netflix, but still a great option, especially if u have a lot of games that want to try. Is not even that expensive. And you check the availability of the games online.

Im very happy with the service. No bad discs so far

4 day at the least for me. I am in Atlanta so if you are closer to a dist. center you might get them faster. Also, I just now got L4D and it has been at the top of my Queue since it came out.

If you really want to play a game just delete all the other games from your list. They may have L4D's in transition when they go to send you a game so they'll just send you whatever is next on the list. If there is nothing on the list they'll send you L4D when they get one in. Which would maybe be an additional day or two usually. Not that long to insure you get a certain game.
