HE meant that by the time Gears released, it was in a userbase of 6 million X360, and it was a new franchise(?)

Compare to Kz2, which is the 2nd game of the franchise(?) and with an userbase of 21 ps3.....

So gears wins the battle

I don't know about that, Killzone 2 being a sequel isn't necessarily a good thing. I've hated on Killzone 2 and considered it a joke until I read some reviews and played the demo precisely because I played the first Killzone. Until about 2 months ago I was anticipating KZ2 about as much as I'm looking forward to a Advent Rising 2 (since I considered the first Killzone about on par with Advent Rising). To get over that, this game for me had to be REALLY good, and it seems to have delivered.

Although, apparently the game was pretty popular in Europe so maybe the mediocreness of the first one wasn't as big a baggage as me and many of my friends thought it would be. But I bet theres more a few people who were not impressed with the first one who needed to be convinced.

^ no probs

@ garnet: that's doesn't make it a [basically] new IP

Very displeased!

I expected sales in the region of 1.5M in its first week for success.

Damn, SSBB, in the U.S. alone, sold more in 24 hours than Killzone 2, the ultra hyped PS3 game, did worldwide in its first week?

I mean, Killzone 2 was hyped to death, wasn't it? It was the FPS with godlike graphics that would vaporize Halo 3, everybody talked about it and it was so cool.

Seriously, just, who didn't expect at least a million in its first week?

I expected 1.5M for first week :)

My prediction was 800k-1 million first week, so I voted for the third option. Perhaps I should have gone with the first. Ah well.
