I don't attack all things sony. It's just funny because ps3 fanboys are Fn nuts. Like I said before, I actually bought KZ2. I enjoy it. It's a really good game. But it's funny/stupid how much ps3 fanboys defend the controls. They aren't good controls. They aren't realistic. They're just poor controls. I said it's mostly cod whiners before because it's hard to talk about the controls in KZ2 without someone complaining about cod giving you actually good controls. Cod may give you a little too much aim assist, but the ability to move around accurately is really nice.
And yes, I have shot a real weapon. Have you? I was in the army. Pointing at something, killing it, then pointing at another things and killing it with accuracy is extremely realistic if you're a good shot. The problem is, under fire, it gets much harder to shoot accurately. People don't take enough time to aim with bullets wizzing past them. Explosions will knock your aim off and cause a lot of stress which will further ruin your accuracy. Your avatar is assumed to be a fearless killing machine, as you're basically single handedly winning the war. I would assume that he is able to aim somewhat realistically. Apparantly i'm wrong.

Your avatar is just another human solider. Maybe a good one but human none the less. Mowing through countless numbers of helghast should be able to clarify that you're a good soldier. Regardless, that's exactly the case in Kill Zone 2. You are constantly on your toes in a sense of panic, stress, bullets flying by your head etc.
You're right you can be accurate easily in real life. But anyone who has shot a gun in real life (Especially a rifle of sorts) can tell you that moving a fraction or a hair off of where you want, will screw up your shot and possibly quite a bit.
I love the controls. I think it feels great and natural. Compared to KZ1 it's awesome. KZ1 controls sucked ass.

even if thats true its negated when half the server is using shotguns and rocket launchers that require no skill at all
as for the controlls.. i rather like the singleplayer ones.. altough i had some real aiming problem during the demo.. but now i can actually hit things :D and now its the multiplayer controls that are bothering me.. i feel like no matter how high i turn the sensitivity its still rather sluggish and before i have taken aim im dead .
i even switched the controlls from right to left ..being left handed and all..because i though that maybe im just not good enough with aiming with the right hand , but this was never necessary in a game before. and i still have big problems with aiming
.maybe it would have been better to have one controll concept for both singleplayer and multiplayer
as for the claim that this ..sluggishness is designed on purpose we can neither reall prove or disprove this .. i dont care , its a hinderance either way

Oh. My. God. If I hear this assinine "realistic" excuse one more time... You are a futuristic soldier invading another planet occupied by aliens. And you are invoking realism? You can sprint and reload your gun at the same time, an impressive and probably quite dangerous action, buit you are claiming realism? You can lighten the "weight" of your gun in the options menu through upping the sensitivity, but you are invoking realism? This realism argument is foolish and pathetic. |
LMFAO... BRILLIANT !
The Aiming does suck...
Thats all people are talking about in game..
I think they focused all their attention to the graphics, and made the controls last minute..
That and to help stop screen tearing..

Hey that sucks. I get this "motion sickness" every time I throw in R2. It feels lie something heavy and ugly is coming on and it is hard to shake for awhile. I thought it was due to the size of my screen 120" but not sure. Any idea what causes it? I was kind of thinking that it could be the epilepsy thing that they warn you about on the back of the games, but I have never experienced a meltdown before... Scary shit to me though!
Killzone 2 is not really sluggish to me. I notice that it is alot harder to hit moving targets with a bigger gun, but the enemies die easier with better bullets so I am hoping that is part of what makes the game special.
I played the demo some 15 times before getting the game, so from the moment I got off the dropship in the retail copy, I was shooting fine.
My advice is give it time. If you don't want to slug your way through the campaign, practice in skirmishes. Believe me, you'll get used to it.

This I agree with, since the argument of CoD is brought up time and time again, CoD has weapon weight where no matter what setting you have it on the size and weight of your gun affects your aiming speed and running speed, and on topic I played the demo on full sensitivity and it still felt a bit slow to me, I play all my console FPS games on full or near full because otherwise it's too slow to take out multiple people fast and check for people behind you and Killzone 2 (unlessi t was changed in the full game) it was too slow to do this, it also lacked the aim assist which console FPS games use now to try and counter act the over adjustment issue that console FPS games were riddled with for a long time but not auto aim so it doesn't do the work for you, like it or not that's going backwards in genre progress on the consoles.

Explain this:
If the controls suck, why does pretty much everyone except you love them? Surely if they're bad, they're unusable.
It's just different! It's a different game! Stop thinking of it as an FPS, if you like. Think of it as something else. Forget everything you know about playing an FPS, and THEN play Killzone 2. It isn't Call of Duty 4. If you want CoD4, go play CoD4. Would you want to play Brawl with Tekken controls? Mario Kart with Gran Turismo controls? No, they're different games. Different type of fighter. Different type of racing game. Different type of shooter.
The people who got to 10 Prestige 55 on CoD4 are just annoyed because they're no longer so much better than everyone else. They can't stand it, starting from the same place as everyone else...
