Forums - General - What is your favorite beer?

@Leo-J. Some people like the taste, some people like to get their buzz on. Alot of people just drink it socially, not really caring for the taste OR the buzz, but they feel like they need to have one in their hand since everyone else does.

To answer the OP's question I usually have a Corona, but lately I've aquired a taste for dark beer, like Guinness.

PS360 ftw!

Currently playing..........

Gears of War 2, GTA IV Lost and Damned, Little Big Planet (Yes I said I had no interest but my girl wanted to try it and we did and now Im hooked )

Beer IS A DRUG

My teachers tell me it all the time.

They sure as hell aren´t teaching you any grammer.

JK, sorry that was a bit harsh, just my evil humor, I´m no wiz at enghlish eather (I google every second word I write), your teachers probably only want the best for you but IMO it´s better to teach responsibility and to show that things aren´t always only good or bad, life is complicated and there is no easy way around it.

Yes I have bad grammar... Im not paying attention at all since I am currently typing pretty quick kid.

To respond to your response, then basicly you know beer is bad for you and you just dont care because it taste or feels good?

Wait, beer is outright bad? without question?

Borrowed from Wiki:

"The moderate consumption of alcohol, including beer, has been associated with a decreased risk of cardiac disease, stroke and cognitive decline.[26][27][28][29]

Brewer's yeast is known to be a rich source of nutrients; therefore, as expected, beer can contain significant amounts of nutrients, including magnesium, selenium, potassium, phosphorus, biotin, and B vitamins. In fact, beer is sometimes referred to as "liquid bread".[30] Some sources maintain that filtered beer loses much of its nutrition.[31][32];

A 2005 Japanese study found that low alcohol beer may possess strong anti-cancer properties.[33] Another study found nonalcoholic beer to mirror the cardiovascular benefits associated with moderate consumption of alcoholic beverages.[34] However, much research suggests that the primary health benefit from alcoholic beverages comes from the alcohol they contain.[35]

It is considered that overeating and lack of muscle tone is the main cause of a beer belly, rather than beer consumption. A recent study, however, found a link between binge drinking and a beer belly. But with most overconsumption it is more a problem of improper exercise and overconsumption of carbohydrates than the product itself.[36]

There is conclusive evidence that heavy and prolonged consumption of alcohol leads to liver disease including cirrhosis and malignancy. Heavy alcohol consumption has also been linked to pancreatitis and gout.[37]"

It all comes down to moderation. While there is disagreement on how much is considered moderate, going out once a week for a couple of drinks isn't going to kill you at 60 and may very possibly improve your health.

It will however kill your wallet.  Everytime i went drinking i'd look at my wallet and think... "Dang for what i paid to get some drinks I could of used to buy a video game that would of been fun for longer." (Even moderate wise you can get a video game for 20+ used.)

Which is why when I go to bars i usually go with my friends I just get a soda and hang out now.  Even two drinks will usually run you 8-12 dollars.  Its almost as bad as cigarettes.  Stuff like that just costs way too much.

While I agree that drinking and smoking are expensive (at least here in Australia thanks to the heavy tax, depends where you live in the world), It all depends on what you value. $500 a year on drinks to someone who earns an average wage isn't a large amount of damage and while on this forum people will be going "but you can buy a ps3 for that much", some people would think that the $500 over the year for drinks while being social is a much better investment.

I find at pubs that even soda is ridicuolusly priced, most pubs around here charge at least $2.50 for a schooner of soda, while you can get a beer for only $1 more. Of course, go out in the middle of Sydney and you can double all those prices, plus more.

GUINNESS - the best effing beer in existace by FAR. It's so think and more fullfilling than any beer I tasted [and I drink LOTS of beer]. Followed by Bud and Becks.

All hail the king of kings [not the crappy photo lol].

It is a hardcore game through and through. You will get your ass kicked by bosses. You will be stumped by the sometimes complex, but never overbearing, exploration.

i've never heard of half the beers mentioned here.... but then again i'm not a big beer fan and i live in australia -__- where usually its only easy to find imports like corona and heinken(sry, cant spell it.)

i used to think corona is oka. until i wasted myself over it. now it tastes like sht to me... but i somehow still drink it -shrug- i'm very curious to try some of the beers mentioned tho.

but yea, i'm with the vodka/spirits crowd.

on a side note, i dont mind minor posting, but please refrain from tellin us beer is bad. we know that already. let us discuss our beers in peace.
