"Dang for what i paid to get some drinks I could of used to buy a video game that would of been fun for longer." (Even moderate wise you can get a video game for 20+ used.) Which is why when I go to bars i usually go with my friends I just get a soda and hang out now. Even two drinks will usually run you 8-12 dollars. Its almost as bad as cigarettes. Stuff like that just costs way too much. |
While I agree that drinking and smoking are expensive (at least here in Australia thanks to the heavy tax, depends where you live in the world), It all depends on what you value. $500 a year on drinks to someone who earns an average wage isn't a large amount of damage and while on this forum people will be going "but you can buy a ps3 for that much", some people would think that the $500 over the year for drinks while being social is a much better investment.
I find at pubs that even soda is ridicuolusly priced, most pubs around here charge at least $2.50 for a schooner of soda, while you can get a beer for only $1 more. Of course, go out in the middle of Sydney and you can double all those prices, plus more.
