The digimon anime (season 1) is far better, than the pokemon anime, (Season 5+). That being said, the Pokemon Anime (Season 1) is far better than the Digimon Anime (Season 2+).

That being said, The pokemon games are still vastly superior. Is this even a contest guys? Honestly, I'll expect something like, Dragon Ball Z vs Pokemon. Pre-teens vs Pre-Pre-Teens!

the digimon anime are a lot better, tons better. thats the reason i'm a fan of digimon.

that being said, the games mostly suck. there are a few good ones you can pick out, but thats about it. nothing as legendary as pokemon.

the series (digimon) didn't start as a game series, so it really doesn't matter.

I always thought Digimon was a cheap and fast me-too cash-in on the whole Pokémans hype.

ya, tahts what everyone thought only because of the "mon" in the name. the two series were nothing alike. there was no catching digimon, no gyms, no trainers, or anything like that. though based towards kids to teens, the series was more serious, and had an actual plot other than going to battle other trainers and get gym badges.

Digimon predates Pokemon by a few years.

Pokemon games > Digimon games, but that goes withot saying because Pokemon was born a game. Digimon was like multimedia that eventually pumped out games and anime, so it's not really a surprise that the Digimon anime > Pokemon anime.

But it had kids battling with monsters right? And those were tiny and cuddly, but could transform into fiercer, bigger beasts. Right? I dunno, that's what I gathered from the glimpses I glimpsed of the cartoons. I always thought the Digimon series looked horrible too. :p But that's just my humble opinion.

it was a little different... the digimon had been assigned to them, and only those 8 kids could have them. there were no other humans in the digimon world (well there was one other,) and when the digimon faught, the kids werent like "okay use water gun" or anything like that.

i do understand why at first it looks really similar tho lol :P

Now that I think about it, I did like the earlier episodes of Digimon more than Pokemon. But the Pokemon games were way better.

I actually thought the first two seasons of Digimon were equal to Pokemon, but after that Pokemon was way better. And Pokemon always had the best games, toys, etc.

I like Digimon way more than Pokemon. I enjoy the Digital world so much. I like story, the animation style and get that buzz when they digivolve. I really like season 1 and season 3. Season 2 was good also.

Pokemon is good too. I enjoy watching an episode every now and then. But it was mostly the first season I enjoyed the most. Tried the one of the games on my friends gameboy and couldn't get into it.

The only similarities I would think between the two is that they both have monsters.
