ya, tahts what everyone thought only because of the "mon" in the name. the two series were nothing alike. there was no catching digimon, no gyms, no trainers, or anything like that. though based towards kids to teens, the series was more serious, and had an actual plot other than going to battle other trainers and get gym badges.

But it had kids battling with monsters right? And those were tiny and cuddly, but could transform into fiercer, bigger beasts. Right? I dunno, that's what I gathered from the glimpses I glimpsed of the cartoons. I always thought the Digimon series looked horrible too. :p But that's just my humble opinion.
