No reason keep it on in the first place.
I don't believe that rumble is as 'necessary' as people claim it is.

It's an annoying and useless feature to me.
It's too bad the weight of the rumble pack on the N64's controller made the whole thing awkward to hold which basically meant if I wanted to enjoy that little feature of OoT I had to suffer holding the thing almost all the time.
I learned to dislike rumble because of PC joysticks that had it defaulted too high which screwed up your aim which was pretty much any game that I'd want to use a joystick for. The N64 didn't make it any better with the bulky and awkward rumble pack. It's not as bad today as it was then but I'd still rather focus on the game than the silly thing between my hands that's vibrating and already telling me things I already know. It's not immersion helping, it's immersion killing to me.
The N64 controller was far too light without the rumble pack. It in no way made the controller "awkward".

PC - Borderlands 2 (2012)
PC - Deep Rock Galactic (2020)
I know im not going to bitch about the the new controller it looks kinda fat but fat/bulkyness on controllers provides provides comfort imo.

My hands are probably smaller than those of a lot of people here so for me the weight made it awkward... ><
I just loved the Wavebird. Why they won't just start producing it again is a mystery to me.

This wanna be retro controllers look like just another way to milk people for their hard earned cash. Too bad it wont be able to compare with the Xbox 360 and PS3 controllers. Besides i thought the whole point of the wii was to be a completly different gaming experience with the wii mote??? |
Classic Controller was made for the VC.
The gamecube controller is awful for some VC games. Has anyone played SMW with the Gamecube controller? The button mapping layout the GC has was totally not made for that game >_> It was so terrible, I'm glad I have the CC. Also, analog controller isn't that good for 2D games (I remember having a fustrating time using a Ride Armor in the classic Mega Man X games on the Gamecube. I keep fucking jumping out of that mech many times), and the D-pad on the GC controller was pretty bad.

Uglier PS2 pad? I thought the PS2 pad was an uglier SNES pad with some N64 joysticks "tacked on." Same with the PS1 and PS3 controllers, actually. The Classic Controller is just Nintendo reclaiming their own perfect "dogbone" SNES design. From 1990. |
MY friend is correct!!
