oh i forgot this is big news its the first time wii went below 20k in japan

It's not the first, but it's still rare.

wen was the last time it went below 20k in japan according to VGC dates

 Good question...

None in 2008 went under 20K (lowest was 22K)

None in 2007... Lowest was 20.9K

And it wasn't below 90K in 06.

Conclusion: This is the Wii's worst week ever in Japan.

Ouch worst week ever for Wii.. I guess Nintendo foresaw this drop and that why there is quite a few games coming for Wii soon in Japan..

XBOX 360 had a great week and it should be able to sustain decent sales for a few weeks more too.

PS3 will get a boost from Yakuza 3 this week, will be interesting to see how big the boost is and how long the effects last

Don't worry once Monster Hunter 3, Arc Rise Fantasia, Dragon Quest X, Tales of whatever come out Wii will be back on top.

I think for a sustained boost in Japan the Wii needs all of these, plus Wii Sports resort, new colours and a price cut. Perhaps some bundling, too.

I don't know too much about "Tales", although DoTNW DID perform surprisingly well in Japan so I think Tales X will be a seller, but it will most certainly be Monster Hunter 3 and Dragon Quest X that will boost the Wii most certainly.  As far as "Arc Rise Fantasia" goes, it's a turn-based RPG and the Japanese do like them, but it will take some marketing for the title to find an audience in Japan.  It is unfortunate that this week for Wii was an all-new low, but ya know, things can get worse BEFORE they get better.  Something to chew on.

Really? I would think the Wii being under 20K in Japan would be something to note.
