Assuming you purchased the PS3 for $600 and you trade it in for $200, you've lost $400 over the past two years.

If you purchase a Wii straight off, you'd just lose $250

 That's the spirit Benga Benga.  Would you actually keep it or just sell it again?  If you really want a PS3 I'm sure all the Sony fans on here would pitch in to get you one.  I'll throw in $20 for sure, lol.  I'm sure you could find some good use for it :)

I would definitely keep it. Actually the loss of BC was the main reason I went 360, since that was THE main competitive edge of the PS3 for me. And since the BC compatible PS3 was never released in Europe it's also not available second hand here.

Once they release a PS3 with BC here I'll buy one, but not before (unless some more exclusive Japanese games are released).

Well, I could try, right. €250 is actually $340 and my offer still stands. I'll pay the shipping cost also.
