If your math is right the playstation brand is still almost 2 billion dollars total profit. Thats not great? And Now they make money on every PS3 sold. No doubt they made some mistakes. But to say they are dead? Granted they did use up over 3 billion dollars the first 2 years.But hey look already 51 million for 2009. You proved my point. They wont die.

 

So basically you're saying that less than $200 million a year in which period they had the best sold console ever AND the final years of the 2nd best sold console ever is good? Sorry, but that's pretty terrible.

And it's Finacial Years, so the 51 million is for March 31st 2008 until December 31st 2008.

But indeed, obviously Sony won't die and it's pretty clear that SCE won't either, as they seem to be on track to be profitable this FY and if they keep their strategy of profit, not marketshare they should be fine.

sony in general has to stop relying on brand and assume people are gonna buy their product because it says sony regardless of the price. both the psp and the ps3 need price that make them more competitive. also they need to start listening to their own damn blog and give people waht theyre askin for. psone classics, more exclusives, a vastly improved ad campaign, any real pspsupport that actually manifests itself instead of just promises. also they need to stop delaying projects. stop announcing projects until their closer to completion so they dont feel like they've been around forever. also they need more cooperation among their international divisions. give regions outside the us the playstation video store. give regions outside of europe play tv which will definitely kick some xbox ass. and most importantly give regions outside of japan GAMES. our asian friends are constantly getting better and more plentiful game releases and far sooner than america. plain and simple balance your company. stop limiting your products by region. we all want a better playstation experience and making all of our playstation experiences equal sony will be giving us all a better experience.

neither Sony nor MS can win in this gen, Nintendo has won on both consoles and handhelds and there's nothing they can do to change this, the best Sony can do is bring the PSP2 quick, and try to catch up to the 360

Dude where did I say Sony are dead?, and where did I say the PS division being profitiable (just about) isn't great? stop putting words in my mouth, he asked me to prove that the PS3 has wiped out what the PS2 made and I did.
