they finally realized that releasing the 4600 series was such a stupid idea....3800>4600....by far...

hopefully 4700 would be better than the 3800 series...or else they're making another stupid idea after another...4700 for $99 better perform better than 3870 which only go for $85...cuz the little brother 4670 which costs around $89 couldn't outperform the cheaper and lower performance of a 3850 which you can find for about $55-60

Well the 9600GT performs just about similar to the 3870 and as you can see from the benchmarks the 4750 is quite a bit faster.

similar to 3870???...3870 benchmark score 4889 vs 9600GT's 4256....that doesn't seem similar....3850 scores a 4275...which is actually a little closer to the 9600GT....and for those who have had seen the difference between 3850 and 3870...there is a big difference...so in that sense it's not similar....and that was the 256mb version of the 3850 which the 9600GT is similar to...had we compared to the 512 mb version of the 3850...then the 9600GT would no longer be similar to the 3850..

3870 would be a little more similar to the 8800 GT which has a score of 4970...those 2 video cards are infact very close rivals stated by many pc magazines...but 8800 GT always edging out the 3870 until they tested the card with CF vs SLi...which in that case the 3870 CF would have better benchmark score than 8800GT SLi

but the 4750...no benchmark right now...but oh wow is all i can say....this vid card looks very promising...hopefully it won't turn out to be like the same promising vid card that the 4600 series were....now i think i might hold off on buying two of the 3870 and wait to get two of the 4750 instead....

3DMark is practically useless for judging video card performance. I may be an AMD fan, but the 3870 is clearly behind the 9600GT in real games. It's irrelevant though because the 46xx series is a better option.

No benchmark? The review link has lots of them, and though it may be pre-release these will be very close to the real thing.

"Crap, this throws a bit of a wrench in my plans to replace my current PC, which is starting to show multiple little signs of failure. What does everyone think I should do? I wanted to replace my computer before it craps out, and had plans to start assembling a system this weekend, but with this video card not coming in until April, is the difference between a 4850 now and a 4750 then worth it?"

Well, the 4850 will be faster than an RV740 chip. It's not clear whether a faster 4850 replacement is coming in April, but on balace I'd say go with the 4850 now.

have you owned any of the vid card to say they're not good for gaming compared to another?? between the 3870, 9600gt and 8800gt....9600 gt is FAR behind the other 2 in terms of gaming....i used to own the 3870 and 9600gt...and currently using the 8800gt...9600gt was returned because i bought a vid card that i thought was going to be better than the 3870...but to my disappointment was not....i had to return the 9600gt card to buy 8800 gt which i'm happy about...

btw i play alot of games...alot of fps to mmorpg..fps games weren't too much of a problem...but when i was playing some of the mmorpg....9600 gt was just unplayable especially when there was a need to render a long distance...i like my setting in the game high...so i dont like to settle for more fps by having worse graphics...

with past experience...i'd rather trust 3dmark...which seem to prove to me more than once it's a better benchmark to take a look at compared to that of another..

about the benchmark...i totally missed that there were more page...but yeah...they're the only ones that seemed to have done any benchmark because i've been looking around to find some benchmark...no one else has done a benchmark yet...lucky them....
