Forums - Nintendo - Capcom pretty much confirms Monster Hunter 3 for NA and Europe

sweet, haven't ever played or known anything about monster hunter before the eruption of love from sony fans over the PSP's success. But after watching vid and trailer or what not for this and learning what you do it really picked my interest.

and then i started reading "monster hunter orage" by Hiro (fairy tail, and rave guy) and am loving it and looks like it could be a great fun game.

If i got it correctly it is basically you find material/minerals or what not to build weapons and armor. take your new stuff and move on to tougher monsters resulting in better material found an taken and continue pimping out your guy. And do this with friends. ah damn it sounds sweet.

Well they can't just ignore almost 40 million Wii's, they need the money.

Yes they can and they have. We've known about Monster Hunter 3 for a while now. Now look at their recent announcements, Dead Rising 2 for PS3/Xbox 360 and Lost Planet 2 for Xbox 360 and possibly for the PS3. Where are the Wii game announcements. There are none.

If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba

Who cares if it's pay to play or not?

It's got local co-op.

cool, i want my monster hunter 3, i wouldnt mind monster hunter g too. :)

@Akira

The PS2 ones were P2P in Japan only. MH1 when it came over didn't have P2P. MH2 didn't come over. And neither do the PSP ones.

If they're going to want a fanbase then they won't add P2P.

MH1, MH2, and MHG all released in America.

And why in the world if MHG is any kind of successful, why wouldn't MH3 be pay to play too?

MH2 isn't released in America. The PSP ones--the most successful ones--aren't P2P right? Why would MH3 suddenly be. And is it me or do you like to argue against everything I say?

Dang, your right. It was cancelled for an NA release.

I'm just saying that if MHG is successful, then why not nickel and dime your customers in MH3?

Capcom confirms intentions of bringing Monster Hunter 3 stateside, plans for more DS titles

“There is no significant change in Capcom’s strategy, and we will primarily release game titles for PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii. In addition, we plan to release our leading titles overseas to acquire game users, as the overseas market for Wii is extensive. One of our leading titles is ‘Monster Hunter 3 (tri-).’ If we can gain recognition of this product in the European and North American markets, our market strategy will see a noticeable change. Meanwhile, we are reviewing the possibility of releasing new titles besides ‘Ace Attorney’ for Nintendo DS.” - Capcom statement

That’s pretty much a 100% confirmation of Monster Hunter 3 in North America. I’m also interested to see what Capcom has in mind for the DS. Are we looking at more Mega Man?

That isn't a pretty much 100% guarantee. They are saying that if MH gains recognition in those markets, then they will consider bringing it to us/eur. Read the sentence i bolded again.

Oh they'll bring it over because it is one of those games they can easily market. I mean show an awesome trailer at E3 and build up the hype and you get mainstream America behind ya. When you have games like that or shooters per se it's usually pretty over to win over other people. It's not like Tatsunoko vs Capcom, aside from the licensing, where even if it could come over getting people interested would be a lot more difficult.

They'll more than likely end up doing it.

Good.
