Forums - Sales - Famitsu: Star Ocean 4: 166,027, X360: 24,584

Nailed this in the preview. The rises in 360 hw from RPGs seem to be getting smaller over time as the system gains a permanent RPG following in Japan.

Absolutely my point, ToV and BD are from other companies that don't have the same reputation as Square Enix.  Square Enix JRPGs are always hugely front loaded and so one should expect SO4 to follow more along the sales curve of IU or TLR instead of ToV or BD.

Then I completely read your comment backwards. -.-

I wouldn't worry about it, I probably wrote it all shitty.

And yet IU and TLR have done extremely well in all regions = S

You like to look at the worst case scenarios for the 360 and the best for PS3? Again, double standards. You do realise that ToV on 360 has beaten every other PS Tales game in NA, i can say that Tales is also a niche game

PS Tales games are missing US data here at VGChartz so you can not say that for sure. Is there a link stating that? If so, that is fine, but you still made a mistake in comparing to SRPG.

As for double standards and putting everything in PS3 favor and not wanting things good for 360 take a look at this.

Please go multiplatform, only so that fans of this game have a better chance at seeing a sequel.

I just picked this game up so at least I have done my part, I just wish games like this would get more love.

Straight from the Valkyria Chronicles wall. I can't believe for the second time this week someone called me out without looking into my posting history first.

*sigh*

I just want to see my RPGs get as much love as possible, it is far from playing favorites.

Then let us look at this thread.

As a long time fan of the Star Ocean series I would like to see this game put into more gamers hands.

To me this does not look ilke double standard, it looks more like consistency.

I didnt say youre a fanboy, im just saying you keep looking at the bads 360 and good for PS3. I have a PS3, its a great console, thats settled

As for Tales, it is the third best selling Tales game ToS1 and ToS2, this is a common known fact by now

I think you Sony Defense Force are just missing the point, even if they want to put this game out for PS3 they wouldn't be able to, because they would still be in development. Many of the developers for Japanese games said times and times again, the reason they make games for the 360 is because the SDK for the 360 was ready to go while the PS3 one was not.

So look at it this way, with the 360, the game is out NOW instead of a year from now. If you are so hard up on Sony, then by all mean wait for the game to come out on PS3. But stop this stupid argument that 360 "ruin" JRPG sales for you. The genre has became very niche just like many others genre from last get.

Good job labeling half the thread because they disagree.

Doesn't matter whether you are right or wrong in your opinion. Labeling an entire thread full of people because they think differently isn't right and I doubt you would appreciate if it was done to you.

It doesn't take rocket science to realize that that portion of your comment was aimed at me.

I am sorry if you feel that way but I happen to enjoy my 360 as well and think it is a great system. I picked one up on Lost Odyssey launch day and have it exclusively for RPGS, both JRPG and WRPG. Check 360 threads though, I tend to say great things about it other than when I was annoyed at customer service in regards to my Live account.

As for common known fact, I am a big Final Fantasy fanboy and I can't even tell you what sales are for each.

Not every Square Enix JRPG has had bad legs:

Kingdom Hearts
Romancing SaGa
Unlimited Saga
DQ & FF Itadaki Street Special
Dawn of Mana
Fullmetal Alchemist
Drakengard
Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker
Dragon Quest IV DS
Final Fantasy III DS
Final Fantasy IV DS
Itadaki Street DS
Children of Mana
The World Ends with You

All doubled their launches in terms of LTD software sale. So I think that S-E does have more than a few games that have had big launches, and followed up with legs. Star Ocean 2 did increase it's sales by 95% over it's launch week, which was pretty good.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
