They'll say both games are too familiar and yet not familiar enough, too easy due to Wii controls and give them both 8.5 or 8.0
Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!! It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!! Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)
controls was too slick. in turn, makes the game too easy. what kind of complain is that? lol.
maybe what they need is the NES controllers to play PM3 then they won't complain about the controls?
Do you guys honestly expect these games to get AAA at every single site? 2 sites gave it high AA; it's at 93% on Gamerankings, which means that most people consider it AAA. Will you guys not be satified until unless a game gets AAA on every site? Even Mario Galaxy, FFXIII, MGS4 and Halo 3 won't get AAA at every site.
I don't wanna bash Gamepro or Gamespot, but I find that the lack of consistency in their review scores is strange.
Gamepro gave higher scores to Super Mario Strikers, Big Brain Academy, Trauma Center, and DBZ:T2
Gamespot gave Wario Ware a higher score by .6, and Monkey Ball a lower score by .2...
I think they need to take score of other games into consideration when they assign the number. Many people make their buying decisions along the lines of where they rank. While I love Elebits (my favorite game) Strikers and Wario Ware, if I was a professional reviewer, I wouldn't rate any of those higher than Super Paper Mario or Zelda, and probably Metroid. because a reviewer has to rate a game on gameplay+graphics+story+lasting appeal... I also understand that one element of a game can be so good that it lifts it above others, like Wario Ware with controls or Heavenly Sword with graphics, but a game should be solid in all areas to achieve a 9+. Maybe those reviewers just really don't like playing traditional games with Wii controls. But that is just my humble opinion. I will tell you my opinion of MP3 when a user review thread is inevitably started too early for anyone to have played the whole thing.
I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

I told you, I wouldn't have a problem with the score if the justified it, but they failed to do so.

Again thats what im thinking,
people plz its like when edge gave bioshock a 8 i was shocked, it was the lowest score yet, not even in the 9.0 range which is AAA, now i dont agree with that score, but i dont need to go on and say they are biased or just make bad reviews. I could be like you guys and question some of there other views, like giving warhawk a 8 along with bioshock, i did not approve of that, but its what the reviewers opinions were based on.
Not every site is gonna be the same and give the ultimate game a AAA score. You have to learn to deal with that, Metroid is a fantastic game, and while its not getting perfect +9 scores, it doesnt mean the site is biased, or wrong. Its a matter of opinion.
Like grandmaster said NO GAME has ever gotten perfect AAA (that i know off) even OoT had a few high scores but not AAA
With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.I'll have to play it first, but I can't believe for a second that MP3 is a "8.5/10" game. All I can say, is that those reviewers must be into completely different games than I am.
Excitetruck is 8.5
Mario Strikers is a 8.0-8.5
MP3 >> Both of those (with no doubt).
...
I can't wait for the reviews of Galaxy now. I can see reviews with "Its a perfect game, but I hate platformers - 8/10".
I'll be very interested to hear from people who have played BOTH Metroid & Bioshock - to hear how they compare (in their opinions).
Its also telling to read the user reviews on the GameSpot game - most are scoring it 10/10 or 9.5/10, with the occasional (obviously) fanboy score of 8. At least one of the reviews tears the GameSpot review to pieces... "The reviewers are so fat and unfit, that playing a Wii title for more than 10 minutes puts them in danger of a heart attack..."

will everyone stop equating review scores with AAA titles? Having a score above 9.0 does NOT make a game AAA. Honestly, I have no idea where this misconception came from but an AAA title has nothing to do with their review score.
Help! I'm stuck in a forum signature!
I do respect your opinions, Shams, but you're giving out extreemly high scores to Excitetruck and Mario Stikers. Now, when a game scores 90% or higher, that means it's legendary and is one of the best game of it's generation. Games like Super Mario World or Wind Walker are 9/10 games. I seriously have doubts about Metroid standing on the same ground as something legendary like Mario, for example. Just look at Resistance. The game is incredible. Amazing graphics, rock-solid gameplay and great multiplayer with amazing single player, as well; yet the game is still not a 9/10 game. In fact, the game is at 88% on gamerankings, which means that it's an 8.8/10. Gamespot gave Resistance an 8.6/10, which is very close to what Metroid got. Even with a score under 90%, Resistance is respected as the best PS3 game out, one of the best FPS out, and one of the best next-gen game out period. 8.5 is a very strong score, and means that Metroid is a very, very good game. I see nothing wrong with Gamespots reveiw or the overrall score. Metroid, along with other great games, is an 8.5/10 game.
