The price cut won't have major effect, because Microsoft can cut the prices again, and if PS3 outsells them, they will.

I still say that the only reason Sony hasn't dropped the price already is that it can't afford to take even bigger losses on the hardware than it already is. Sony will drop the price as soon as it reasonably can, but I don't expect that to be until the holiday season at the absolute earliest, and maybe not even then.

September of 2009 with $100 cut on all skus.

MS will respond by cutting the Pro and Elite by $50. They will not adjust the Arcade pricing.

No time b4 November this year. I don't expect one this year.

They'll probably do $50 after their fiscal year ends (and thus their report wont take a hit) and another $50 by Christmas to maximize sales.

i agree with wat dbot said but it could be as late as NOV. and there could be other skus for the 360 and ps3 with diffrent HDD and that the arcade might see a 30$ price cut with a possible HDD

as much as i hate to say it b/c it will make low ps3 sales for now  i think there will be a 100$ price cut on the ps3 b4 the year ends with the cheaper sku being 299$

A $50 price cut will do fook all to save the PS3 in regards to compeating for sales with 360 and Wii. That would be £25 here in the uk off the price. I can't see too many people rushing out and spending £300 because there is £25 off. I have to assume that will be the same for everywhere else. The PS3 needs a deep price cut of at bare minimum £50-£100 to make any difference now. The problem is by going that far down means Sony will lose even more money and that is not what they want to do, they don't want a repeat of this years financial numbers. I think as others have said that we will see a $50 price cut just before holidays 2009. And that will make little to no difference at all.

$50 bucks at Christmas time, and I think that will not do much in terms of catching the 360. It may cut the 360 from just outright taking the second spot though.

Even a $100 price cut will not make much difference if it is put off for too long of apeoriod of time. The ps3 is really in a bad spot.
