The PS3 looks like it has been on a roll in Japan lately.  I just have to ask for why this is.  Has Sony been putting more of a focus on Japan for its marketing or games?  

games: WKC gave the console a little + the perspective of SFIV, RE5 and of course, yakuza 3 (which is well advertize) and FFXIII demo!

It's gotten some games (nothing too big outside of White Knight) in the past two months and it's just held steady.

Having a better performance is a good trend. With RE5 and specially Yakuza 3 coming out soon, it'll improve further.

Well the console should do good until april, after that ... All the games we're talking about are for western market (infamous, uncharted2, MAG, GoW, heavy rain, etc etc etc).

The last remnant will help the PS3 a little I guess ... I hope for big annoucements for japan at next E3 of the PS3 will have difficult times especially is FFXIII is delayed till 2010.

Mainly its because its gotten more games that appeal to the Japanese.
Well,aside from WKC not too much,but its getting some great ones.

Yakuza 3 will move a few i think(i found the demo quite good)

As well as the FFXIII demo.

Yeah yakuza3 is very popular in japan, it will easily top the 600k units sold in japan alone. I hope the game will be well received in the west. I played yakuza 1 and 2 and I'm sure that american and european gamers would love it!

PS3 is in a good position now. A few solid games have been released and more are on the way. While the Wii is in a constant decline and has nothing to change that till summer.

It's the best time for Sony to strike .. with a price-cut. They absolutely must cut the prices for PS3 in Japan. Even if it's just a 50$ discount. After summer it will probably be too late.

The problem is that PS3 has pretty much nothing for Japan beyond April. Other than anticipation of FFXIII, which is probably delayed till 2010. They absolutely need a price cut this spring.

@Rei: I fully agree. And japan is a "little" market now, so they won't loose too much money.
