Forums - Gaming - I genuinely think 360 graphics look more realistic than PS3 graphics

I know I will get hammered for this but it is just my opinion based on my observations.

While the PS3 graphics look excellent somehow they are just to clean.

I know my words may be wrong to explain what I am saying but with 360 there seems to be a grittiness that makes them look more realistic.

Before you start giving me down the glen because of my sig I would like to add that my neighbour and friend has the PS3 so i have seen lots of multiplats and exclusives on both.

Anyway as I said this is just my observation and in no way can be seen as a scientific research piece into the technicality or short comings of either machine.

It is just what I take out of observing both consoles.

Its purely based on what the developer can do.

The 360 and ps3 still have a long way to go before we can say one can produce better graphics than the other.

N64 is the ONLY console of the fifth generation!!!

I disagree... but there are only a few games can use to back up that claim...

Guitar Hero 3/ Smash Hits

IMO, the other way around. The 360 offers cleaner (and sharper) graphics, the PS3 has blurred graphics... which show more grit. Also, if you want grit, ask your pal to download the KZ2 demo or buy the game. Lots of grit there.

Games on my PS3 seem to be a little darker than games on my 360. It's like I'm wearing slightly tinted glasses. They still look uber awesome and very sharp, though. No complaints from me.

Being that the best looking 360 game was designed using UE3, I really don't see how the plastic coating of some models would equal a more realistic look. Either way, In terms of grit, I don't think any console beats out the PS3, simply because of the color palette used in some high profile games.

This is only my opinion though.

people will believe what they like to believe no matter wrong or right.and that friend's neighbor's cousin is not so believable.

I still ahven't seen a game play picture this realistic on any console:

I am afraid xen he is not online.

But he is getting KZ2 on release and I am looking forward to giving it a go.

I genuinely have the opposite opinion then you and I (as in self, not neighbor) actually own both. Furthermore, Gears 2 is by far the best looking game on 360 and while gritty it certainly doesn't look realistic. As far as realism, I would give that title to Uncharted. Uncharted, MGS4 and Killzone 2 are all amazing games, I'd go as far as saying that they are the three best looking games on consoles and they all have a grit to them. Many complaints to Killzone 2 is that it's a gritty game. In Uncharted, dispite the jungle setting, Nathan Drake is very dirty and you can see the stains and dirty on his clothes and skin. In MGS4, while not as gritty as most, it still is fairly gritty. It certainly isn't clean. As explosions go off the screen itself will become covered in dust and dirt.

PS3 Trophies

Well they're both great and its just minor differences really. I think it falls on the developer more than the consoles capabilities.
