Also...how do you get your wii to run in hi def...I know it only goes to 480p, but is there a cord you need, cuz I tried clicking the button to switch it to 480p but it won't let me click it.

Does the classic nintendo controller work with gamecube games

1. Maybe your TV doesn't support 480p (just because it does 720p or whatever doesn't mean it does lower resolutions)?

2. No.

Thanks for all the help everyone, you've answered all of my questions, and I have a good idea of the games I want now.

You need components cable for 480p.

Look into the Trauma Center series if you want to try something new.
If you're interested in Pikmin, what about Little King's Story? It's coming soon!!!

You should download World of Goo, it's amazing and only 15 Wii points!

Don't bother with Nights, it was my biggest mistake! Buy a 2nd hand saturn and the original instead!

Mario Galaxy is the best game on the Wii.

I'm writing this on the Wii, it takes ages, I should use a PC instead...

@Hoffmole.... World of Goo is 1500 Wii points ($15 or Euros, or about £11)

I can type on the Wii pretty fast now.... certainly not keyboard speed (although you can now use a USB keyboard for the Wii browser I believe) but I would say close to half the speed I type with a keyboard, which is impressive given you only have 1 "finger"

@OP. If you are planning on getting lots of VC games, You will need an SD memory card... 2GB should be enough unless you are going to buy the whole collection of N64 games, but I am not sure the Wii supports SDHC (more than 2GB) anyway.

for some wiiware goodness, you should try...

bomberman blast, it costs 1000 wiipoints (i think) and it has 8 player multiplayer online, and it lets you hook up 4 wiipotes and 4 gamecube controllers to have local 8 player multiplayer (great for parties, or just having some friends over)

i forgot the name of it, but theres also a tetris wiiware game with online multiplayer for 1000 points.

come try out the computer game i've been working on for my high school senior project, titled sling ball. http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=47568

Mario Kart Wii, Super Mario Galaxy, and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption are must have games in my opinion. For the sake of all that doesn't suck, don't buy Boom Blox.

don't listen to that lunatic, boom blox is AWESOME!!!!

also, mario kart wii has some great online features (the best on the wii right now imho). it might keep you playing for a a couple hundred hours or something.

imo, soper mario galaxy took away the openworldness of super mario 60/sunshine, and re-introduced some of the classic lenierness (um is that even a word?) and hard as balls platforming of the classic mario titles. basically it's a interesting mix of the past 2d and 3d mario games i think.

Sorry vonboy but Boom Blox is an abomination. I wrote the unofficial review. If you want to support an out of the ordinary third party game try Zack and Wiki, Okami, No More Heroes, or Dewy's Adventure. Boom Blox stinks!!! Seriously.

sorry for derailing this thread further, but will you please tell me what stinks about boom blox that makes it such an abomination? if been hearing from you and rol that this game stinks, but i've never heard either of you say why it does.

but to try to stay on topic, if you can find mercury meltdown revolution anywhere (it ain't easy to find) you should get it. it's only 20 bucks (full retail price, not used) and it's a great little reflex based puzzler. you basically control a glob of mercury, and you tilt the wiimote to tilt the whole level to try to get the glob into the goal.(think super monkey ball) you can smash the glob into corners to break it into multiple pieces, change the color of the pieces, mix colored mercury balls for more colors (you'll have top do this some to get by certain doors or obstacles), you can heat up the mercury for a very liquidy glob, or you can freeze it into a hard round pinball, and a whole lot more things.
