@Onyx: As cloning is a word used to describe processes used to duplicate something. When you duplicate aged cells, the duplicated cell is an aged cell to begin with (how else can you clone something). This isn't limited only to cloning, also the age of a mother (giving birth) effects the daugters ability to reproduce, since the reproductionary cells are "cloned" from mother to daughter. And as we live, old cells die in any case and new ones grow, but the new cells that replace the old ones, are already "old" (if not, everyone would be young forever).

In order to make a "new" clone, the cells would need to be altered as "new" cells, instead of growing a bunch of old cells (as it currently works).

If we think at the theoretical example of cloning a human (growing a human out of cloned cells, as how the process would work), the infant would grow normally, with the difference that the cells would deteriate fast and at a relatively young age, not that the clone would be born as 20 years or 50 years old.

Failed simplification of ageing mechanisms. At first I thought you was talking about the telomere theory, but after reading the entire post... you've single-handed turned asexual reproduction to be theoretically impossible (as all living organisms have the capacity of DNA repair and antioxidant metabolism). Tsk tsk.

Tagged for later. I get the feeling that this thread will be very entertaining when I have time to read it!

Include some spoiler alerts ffs.

Fox Die has a code that kills only specfic people and the virus is breaking down and will no longer reconigse who to go after and when that happens in six months it will not only kill snake he will be a walking death machine.  Meaning it will kill anyone who snake comes in contact with because it will be like the Tvirus in resident evil being carried through the air water and blood transfusing and

Sorry this for the guy on page two if this was not already answered

All right then.

Metal Gear Solid 3 adds the context for the entire series, up to and including the games that take place before the first Metal Gear Solid. It explains the origins of Big Boss and the Patriots, and how The Boss' legacy and the men who fought for her are the source of pretty much all conflict in the entire universe.

Liquid Snake is Solid Snake's brother, which is why he calls Solid "brother" for all three games in which the two characters appear. Well, that's not true: Liquid only appears in the original Metal Gear Solid.

Liquid's hand never took over Ocelot's body. Ocelot basically mentally conditioned himself into being Liquid Snake so that he could.... wait, why the Hell did he do that? I forget exactly. I'd need to watch the MGS4 ending again. I'm sure he had a reason, though. It probably involved screwing with Snake.

Naomi Hunter is the sister of Frank Jaeger and the inventor of FOXDIE. That's her biggest thing. Her nanomachine studies are the driving force behind the technology of the entire series after the first game. She's responsible for the Genome soldiers, for FOXDIE, for the System, for all kinds of horrible shit. Also she has cancer and apparently the nanomachines stopped it only seconds before it would have rendered her unable to walk.

Raiden is some child soldier who fought in MGS2, rescued Olga's daughter Sunny, apparently got more or less annihilated, captured by the Patriots, and turned into a robot like Grey Fox. He's a bit of a huge dork.

Snake was not in all of that pain because of FOXDIE. The FOXDIE that he was originally given was not intended to target him: his gene sequence was different from Liquid's, and it would not reach a point where FOXDIE would actively target him. Naomi intended for FOXDIE to eventually kill him, but his Werner's syndrome screwed up his genetic sequence and caused the FOXDIE to mutate, which basically turned him into a walking biological weapon.

Snake tried to kill himself because he was turning into a FOXDIE bomb of sorts, the single vector for what couldd potentially kill every single human being on the planet.

Snake was in all of that pain from a combination of Werner's syndrome and the nanomachines in his body going haywire, which is something that was happening to every single person in thee game who had nanomachines. Snake's didn't shut down entirely because they're an older model, but they were still sending him into seizures and that is why he had to take those shots.

His rapid aging was from Werner's syndrome. Otacon says that he has no real idea why Snake has it - it's much worse than a clone's rapid aging should be.

Snake wasn't actually against the Patriots, he was against Liquid. Fighting Liquid was all he cared about. He was a pawn of the Patriots, from beginnign to end, without realizing it. Naomi was against the Patriots, and Big Boss was against the Patriots, and Ocelot was against the Patriots, and through Solid Snake they were able to destroy the Patriots without him even realizing it.

Does that answer everything?

Yay, something I can answer.

The arm was uncomfortable, so he replaced it with a prosthetic one.

However, he had to be Liquid-and this is where is gets confusing- to fool the Patriots into thinking that he was Liquid, so that the Patriots would help Snake overthrow Liquid, and in doing so, help the ex-Patriots find Big Boss, and...

Okay, I don't get it either.

(Former) Lead Moderator and (Eternal) VGC Detective

MGS3 was the begining of the Story. It showed the origin of Big Boss. Big Boss had 3 clones later on: Solid [the main character in MGS1 and 4], Liquid [Villian in MGS1, dead] and Solidus [The main villian in MGS2, you also see him as the "Fake Big Boss" in the Van that was being held by Eve and her group in MGS4]. Raiden was introduced in MGS2 and is also the damn cool Cyborg like ninja who losses both his arms in MGS4. Raiden was a child soldier. You'll have to play MGS1 to get to know who Naomi is a little better.

The person that Snake fights at the end of MGS4 was Ocelot [the old man with the revolver in MGS2, and the young man with 2 revolver's in MGS3 that goes by the name Adamska or Adam.] The reason why he was called Liquid was because he pretended to be possessed by liquids arm.

OKAY I am here to save the day.

I know literally so much about this franchise its dead scary.

I am a huge fan and understand generally EVERY aspect of the story line mainly because I am very good with critical thinking situations, ive looked up a few explanations and repeatedly watched/played the games.

SOOO If you have any questions, shoot em at me and ill answer them and hopefully clear up some confusion.

Looks like someone beat me to quite a bit of stuff, but still if there is anything that still needs to be cleared up feel free to ask :P
