I think Chris Rock had the best explanation for why blacks dominate most American sports. But that doesn't mean they don't let people of other ethnicities in. Just because men might dominate most sports doesn't mean they shouldn't let women in. Besides, whenever a woman totally rocks a man, people would pay more to see it. They could make more money by being more accepting.

I've had this argument with Kasz before in another thread long ago, and I think he finally won me over. I mean, there's no rule in the book that says dogs can't play football.

And they let Andy Kaufman wrestle all those girls.

I believe plenty of woman basketball players could succeed in the NBA. The problem is... with women's only sports they suffer much worse disadvantages then a perceived physical one.

A few....

A) Women get less support in what they want to do. After all... the WNBA isn't throwing out Lebron money. Heck they aren't even throwing out Raef Lafrenz money. Also... sexism and all.

B) Women get inferior coaches, trainers etc... because the women's sports are seen as inferior also rans with male sports. Things that have to be there because they are.

C) Women players get Misscast.

The average height in the NBA is 6'7. The smallest player currently in the NBA is 5'9. (Smaller then the worlds average for men.)

The average height in the WNBA is 5'11. Shortiest player... 5'3. (Note Mugsy Bouges was 5'3... but here it's a lot more the rule then exception that people under 5'10 are in the league.)

Players that should be playing the 1,2 and 3 instead get tapped to play the 4 and 5 just because they need to stick the tallest people there.

Lisa Leslie is 6'5 and she's playing center. She's one of the tallest people in the WNBA.

Give a young 6'5 Lisa Leslie a men's coach, and teach her to run the point or shooting guard... and i'd be she'd be in the NBA.

To support women's only sports one would have to argue that gender is a more important difference then race, size, weight and just about every other possible "handicap" someone could be born with.

Although Kasz has seemed to get off topic in this thread, if I recall correctly a female played in the NHL, but didn't really work out that well. I would agree that many professional women athletes can compete with male athletes in team based sports. In individual sports, there is a very large gap between the men and women.

OT: Why wouldn't a real queen be eligible for prom queen. In fact a tranny/cross-dresser is probably more qualified as a queen then any girl.

No, because those are actual disabilities which affect physical performance. Not like, breasts and a uterus.

Give the Lisa Leslies and the Mugsy Bouges of the world equal access to competition and training... and I bet more Leslies make it to the NBA then Bogues.

What is the world are u talking about? Hayley Wickenheiser is prob the best female hockey player in the world. She plays in a Scandinavian mens league cause it's less physical & she doesn't even play in the top flight. She's not physically capable of playing against the best males. It's just not biologically possible.

Did Hayley Wickenheiser get

A) As much support and encouragement from her family and friends as a male athelete would get.

B) Access to the best trainers and couches out there on her way up before she it the pros

C) Put on male teams throught her career so she wouldn't have to adjust to a different position?

Furthermore... why should men be treated differently then women?

Should Men and Women have differente requirments for doing things like joining the Police or being a Fire Fighter as well?

Or should there be sepereate all women Police and Fire Fighter squads?

Ones sex does not effect the job that needs to be done.

Its not the breasts and the uterus which cause women to be worse at sports, they have a huge physical disadvantage. Sure white people have a disadvantage at some sports (and an advantage at others) but women have a physical disadvantage at all sports.

Just look at the records for sprinting.

Fastest speed 100m - 9.69

Fastest speed for a non-West African - 9.99

Fastest speed for a woman - 10.49

Other highly physical sports such as rowing, weightlifting and even high jumping are not dominated by black people but are completely dominated by men.

Edit: @Kasz, in both cases they are disadvantaged in sport. To be honest I actually meant to put paralympics but I got confused. If you actually knew me, or in fact had read some of my political posts on this site you would know that I'm not even slightly sexist.

Also stop changing the subject, we aren't talking about the police of firefighters here, we are talking about top level athletes. Women are extremely capable of being police and firefighters, they are simply not capable of competing with men in physical sports. Its unfair to women to not allow them to have a chance to compete at the top level of sport simply because they are born with a different chromosone.
