So if you think the SSB series is just the same as the one before but with better graphics, why do you think that each one is worse than the one before it?

My advice to fanboys: Brag about stuff that's true, not about stuff that's false. Predict stuff that's likely, not stuff that's unlikely. You will be happier, and we will be happier.

I have the most epic death scene ever in VGChartz Mafia.  Thanks WordsofWisdom!

If you were to ask a old school gamer who knows how to play or has played SF then they'd say SF easily.

I've been playing SF2 with my friends since it came out.

But Brawl is better.

Brawl with 3 friends >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> SF4 =Brawl with 1 friend.

Brawl with 3 friends makes SF4 look like ET.

Of course, that could be influenced by my dislike of traditional fighters.

Saying that Melee and Brawl are merely updated graphics is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. The gameplay change from the original to Melee was huge, and was still very substantial when moving on to Brawl. Any Smash fan can tell you that.

Saying that Brawl is the original Smash with better graphics is like saying Super Mario Galaxy is SM64 with updated graphics. It's not even a matter of opinion, it's false.

Indeed same here, played it in the arcades, Blanka was my favorite, then I got it on the Gen with the 6 button controller and destroyed people that played me, but even back then the game was about being as cheap as possible to win and it is now there's nothing tech about tripping someone up over and over and when they try to counter just counter back and trip up, it does a good bit of damage and it works.

Brawl you don't have the cheapness, you have complete customization in your matches, the game is easy to get into but when you really learn the game you can find it very deep and learning how to out smart people, counter moves, timing, and in the end it's all about skill.

I actually would of liked Brawl better if they just remade it from Melee with a roster update, the music and level editor, and collectibles, and match saves and retro games, and online component and story mode and so on and so forth could of all been another packaged game that I would of done without if only they would of made Melee 2.0 with Brawl characters but it was still Melee...

I wonder how Meta Knight would fair against Melee Marth, Fox or Shiek.

Pft Melee was dumb and I still highly doubt the wavedash as intentional especially since only certain characters could do it.  Then Melee was such unbalanced roster that even I with all my Ness skillz would sometimes lose to Roy/Martch overpowered BS.  That and the fact that Ness was nerfed so much, and overall Brawl has much better balance then Melee.

It probably would have been boring. It's not fun to play the same game again. Melee was out for 7 years or so. It gets old after a while. Besides, Brawl's fighting system is flat out amazing.

Also, meta-Knight would have been extremly broken.

I'm sorry to hear that Maxwell, really am - Melee was just less forgiving than Brawl, Brawl seems to add this floaty lag that gives players way too much time to start thinking about what they will do. Balances the playing field sure but not the characters.

Melee was more do or die, and EVERY character could wave dash, at least I can wave dash with every character. Heck Brawl actually helped my wave dashing ability since I use Pit in fights I do a lot of wing refreshing, which is basically wave dashing minus all the options.

Melee > Brawl when it comes to metagame, I'm trying to view this objectively since I actually stopped playing Melee for almost a year now and only played Brawl, it was only last week at a friends house that I went back to Melee and realized how great it really is. I never wanted to touch Brawl again.

On the plus side I read an article that Nintendo in an effort to increase user awarness of online functions on the Wii are doing some work with Wiiware and gametrailers as well as boosting Wii connectivity, They also mentioned that a storage solution is coming, my guess is they acknoledged that the install base that is complaining about storage are the ones buying games that they want to show can move on the Wii.

The main point is Wii connectivity, if they mean firmware for better online either by using alternative or predictive coding for online to reduce the effect of lag or by eliminating friend codes or reducing their influence then good things, specially for a lagless online in brawl.
