All kidding aside, the new layout looks fantastic and I can tell you, I'm VERY excited about the way it's coming out. I can also tell you from a programmer standpoint - showing 'teasers' isn't always helpful, especially when your elbows deep in early development. That said, at some point there will probably be some beta use going on as we get closer - when that will be, I can't say for sure, but it won't be too far off in the future. Brett's on a mission and is determined to put this site next to (or above) the 'big boys' (ign, gamespot) and I believe we are certainly headed that way with the new layout...

I'm still waiting for your cool new feature to be put live. That doesn't even have to wait for the next release of VGChartz

Yeah, I really need to push that out - give people a small taste of the things to come. Maybe I'll do it this weekend. I've been a little hesitant as I want to make sure I have at least a few hours available AFTER the push - just in case things turn to crap and I need to back it out quickly...

 

...if you pass out those screenshots, Brett will send a very large man with a bat to your house. :O

How long has this thing been in the works for, now? I think I remember first hearing about it last September/October time.

Saying that you want to be "on par" or "better than" IGN doesn't excite me much. IGN's layout is pure arse, and this site is already much better.

Can we at least have an estimated release date? Thats what game developers do for their craving and desperate fans ya know, so it should the least of what you can do for us.

hmm, updates typically come out on wednesday, so 4/1/09.

Is it possible to give a site an 11? If so, this would be the site that would merit that score. VGChartz 2.0 is a site that exceeds all of the hype that was attached to the site. Regardless of whether you've seen every trailer and screenshot, read every preview and heard every interview, you won't get a full sense of how phenomenal this site is unless you sit down and experience it for yourself.
