anyway, while all three console lineups are strong, there is one major thing that makes the Wii's lineup the strongest. With the exception of Halo 3, there are no known strong titles on the Xbox360 and PS3. Halo 3 is the only game that has a previous version that sold more than 2-3 million games. While games such as R&C, DMC will do well, nothing on the PS3 or Xbox list can compare to Super Mario Galaxy (a game that looks fantastic with the backing of the biggest and most recognised game franchise in the world) and Smash Bros.

Anyway, yeah, this is a great lineup of games... second best if not the best.

I have not understood the Wii since it came out. First it was Wii Sports, which was a pushover because, if you want to play a sport, go outside. Secondly, I cannot count the number of times my friends would beat me in Wii Sports and then think they were something badass. As far as I am concerned Nintendo is good for kids. Mario just does not cut it for men. Two contenders: Japanese spawned Italian Plumber Hero or Super Soldier Aliend Slaying Machine Master Cheif. There are Two, count'em two games I would like to see for Wii, new Super Smash and Metroid. My honest opinion? Neither will stand up to a real game like Halo 3, plain and simple. You can wave your Wii motes point at your screens but face it, you can't be killing Covenent Horde in 1080i on that Wiik little console. The Wii is a phenomenon that has gone straight over my head. You guys can enjoy it but, I would like to know if there are others out there who dislike the Wii like I do. I currently own PS3 and 360. My PSN name is kdw13. I am awaiting: Warhawk, Halo 3, and Uncharted.

I dont see why multiplattform games with the worst version ,PS2 and PSP ports and low profile specific games are so great .Yes ,Mario Galaxy and Smash Bros will be great games (although the same as ever ) ,but thats about it .

Fixed your quote of ck's post, look at the bolded words. The way you said "ckmlb, that is YOUR opinion" gives me the impression that you thought he was implying that those games were the best, period.

He wasn't trying to force anything. He was merely stating that those were his personal favorites, and that in terms of quality games coming out this year, PS3 has the better lineup. Note the "In my opinion" in the middle of his sentence.

The only games I'm getting this year are Fire Emblem, Brawl, Galaxy, and Prime 3. RE - Umbrella Chronicles is a possibility if the new areas are interesting enough. Nothing else really seems to be worth it, IMO.

What kind of strange little world can you just build a time machine, go to the future, get specialized armor and weapons, and go on an alien killing spree? Certainly not any world right now.

And yes, most of the people who are egotistical about Halo are bitches. The single player is boring enough, but they completely ruin the multiplayer too. And people treat me like I'm insane for not liking it.

I'll be getting Nights, SMG,SBB, Harvest Moon. And of all things, My wife wants Manhunt 2 for her birthday this year.

It is amazing how some people like ckmlb flip out into a multi-console fight when someone mentions a happy note on the Wii.

Fact- People have been dogging the Wii all year for being in a drought. That is officially over with the release of MP3.

Fact- There are many games that are system movers. Believe it or not there are plenty of Mario/Metroid fans that only show up when those games are released. The depth of the Wii library is more dramatically increased than an older system like the 360.

Fact- I agree this is not a great list if you are talking Holiday '07 games only. People seem happy to point out the games on the list which wont make it but what about others left off that will. I personally am buying Dragon Blade(I consider a potential sleeper hit) and my wife is all over Rayman 2 (First one was a million seller on the Wii with a smaller install base).

Fact- Wii is getting great press, word of mouth, and sold out status even with increased shipments.

So yes a great selling, innovative, well received. affordable, mass market system with 8 million selling games is getting a pile of good games deserves some sort of Armageddon moniker.

I am not about to pick a fight and say one system has a better holiday lineup because I think all systems are giving their fans exactly what they want this Christmas, so consequently whatever system you like the most appears to have the best lineup. I will say it is the best holiday lineup in history if you talk about all gaming, but not so if you just give that title to one system.

At this point it is Wii's generation to lose and a holiday lineup like this will keep it on it's winning ways.
