This.
4 ≈ One
They won't affect each other.
Combined RE5>KZ2>PS3 RE5>360 RE5 sales, I think.

About moving & shooting...
Sorry, but even professional soldiers do move & shoot. Heres some live action...
RE5 will sell on two platforms: PS3 and X360. KZ2 will sell on PS3 only.
I believe RE5 will obviously outsell KZ2. RE5 on 50 million user base as opposed to KZ2 on 21 million user base. RE5 and KZ2 will both have good legs and keep on selling for a long period of time.

That's bullshit, pardon my French. Most would agree that Resident Evil is one of the few series' that has gotten better over the years. Even if RE5 sucked ass, how would it be "not wat it used to be"? What is used to be when RE4 came out? The best game in the series. Also, by a much more realistic and hurtful logic: If Killzone 2 does have piss poor sales, it won't be due to the Resident Evil release, it will be because the game is on the Playstation 3, which has shown a trend of having piss-poor exclusive game sales compared to the Xbox 360 and Wii, time and time again. Releasing this game against SFIV, RE5, no price cut, right after the holidays, was an ignorant decision. Were anyone with common sense amongst the marketing department at Sony, they would release the game during the summer drought, and accompany its release with a 50-100 dollar price cut, bundle, and new ad campaign. Sony has done nearly everything in their power to minimize the impact of this game. Really, what is the best case scenerio for KZ2, sales wise? Beating MGS4? Legs? What? What kind of sales do you expect it to pull? You guys should be proud that you have another AAAE in your library. However, there is no excuse for flaming RE5. Some people, like me, smart people, who have been playing games since probably before you were born, love the series, and nearly every game in it. If your flavor of the week Killzone 2 hype is threatened by it, go yell it out, but don't get on this forum and play like RE sucks. It's a time consuming trifle, that. |
um yeah i will agree that the series has gotten better control wise and gameplay wise but in story wise it went down hill during RE4 wat was this crap with it being in EU and nomore zombies, and this little troll salazar guy being one of the main bad guy thats not wat it used to be.
Also the places it takes place in EU and now this desert Africa settings thats not wat it used to be it used to be in more current times state like in RE2,3 were you had a living breathing City around u with mansions, police stations, under ground sewer systems, and stores and streets with cars and buses in
i think if RE5 does do well in sales it wont be largely b/c of the game quality it well be b/c capcom took more than 4 yrs to make RE4 with better grapx a co-op that shouldnt of been there for the single player campaign and add a little strafe feature the anticapation for a RE game is wat is going to sell RE5 but i can C right through capcom 4+yrs for RE4.5 come on
i wasnt really trying to flame RE5 i liked the demo except for sheva being there and the AI wasnt good but maybe it was b/c it was a demo i will be buying it at launch. I was trying to give a reson Y re5 won't do good if in fact it does turn out to do poor in sales and going by alot of peoples demo recations lately they all seem not to be feeling it and saying bring back the old stand ur hairs on ur back RE

Killzone 2 will probably outsell Re5 on ps3 and maybe even hurt some sales for it.
Games on the same platform do affect sales of each other. And considering Resident Evil is a much larger and better established property it could possible take some thunder away from Killzone 2 in the long run or even the short run. It probably won't affect it's first couple of weeks but in the long run it's possible.
I would doubt that KZ2 would have much affect on such a largely established franchise as Resident Evil. It may minimize how much it sells at launch but people are still going to see the name brand and buy it in the long run.
Of course the 2 could not end up affecting each other at all and they'll go their normal sales route. I'd say that is the most likely thing to happen.
Looking at the demos, Killzone 2 will destroy Resident Evil 5 on the Ps3.
I'm sure both games will do grand, make lots of money etc..

i dont think RE5 will do as well as some people think
