Forums - Nintendo - Support The Dead Space Petition

that trailer looks amazing and I loved RE:UC, if this is half as fun as that was it will be awesome...

you guys keep saying that "nobody wants a railshooter version of deadspace, and nobody wanted re:uc" I'm sorry but you're wrong, I loved Umbrella chronicles, and am looking forward to this more than I was before. Railshooters are not inferior because you do not like them.

This is the same BS I hear when JRPG fans shit all over Strategy RPGs like disgaea, thy're different genres, but neither are better than the other.

you never know if you stop acting like babies about this game, more Deadspace games may come out for the Wii....

Bozon wrote a quite interesting editorial about this:

The bottom line is this. Obviously I would have wanted to see a full-fledged Dead Space "RE" experience on Wii, as it's one that could really prove that the hardest of the hardcore games still work on Nintendo's system. EA took a safer route in going with an on-rails game, although anyone that has the viewpoint of "Extraction = cop-out" should take a good long look at the trailer again. This is, if the original teaser footage is to be trusted, a very visceral, mature, bloody experience, and one I can't wait to play.

EA never promised it to be like the original so I don't know why people are getting angry. They also never said it was a port, people just assumed that. Now this game looks great from the trailer, do you rather they just make nothing or a great game?

This is moronic...

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

I hate that its an on-rails shooter. Because I don't think they will be able to set the atmosphere of the tittle in that type of game and it will not be a good representation of the franchise. These are my reasons:

1. You don't choose where to go, so almost no exploration at all, you are not afraid to go in the "wrong" direction.
2. No weapons and/bullet limit because you have to kill everything in order to go on.
3. No enemies "from behind" or "surprise attacks", you always shoot in front of you.
4. You can learn the attack patterns of the enemies
5. These are usually very short games that are not worth 50 bucks, but they charge the 50 anyway.

I was happy that the game has a new story and that it was built from the ground up for the wii. I had no problem with FPS, they could do something cool like Doom3 or FEAR. I was hoping for a TPS or a FPA like Metroid. But I don't think an on-rails shooter will do the franchise justice.

The problem is the name of it. Why is it called Dead Space anything? There has been one game in this up and coming franchise. There really isn't much of a brand name to cash in on, and it will be hard to build up a fanbasefor the "franchise" if you keep jumping genres. They should have just named it something else and modified the story slightly. I just can't see how this can end any way but a lot of dispointment for people who loved Dead Space and wanted another version of it. I got nothing against on-rail shooters, and this one seems to be shaping up amazingly well. It just needs a different name to satisfy everyone. Too late for that though.

Starcraft 2 ID: Gnizmo 229

If Zack and Wiki 2 was a kart racing game, or No More Heroes 2 a Smash Bros style fighter I'd be pissed at that too. If they had made an actual dead space game on wii and then next year this arcade shooter with dead space on it, I'd be slightly more receptive.

Furthermore it's insulting to the wii. Instead of getting a genuine full length adventure it's getting another "pick up and play" title that can be beat in a sitting. It's like saying "no, no, no. The wii can't handle a third person shooter. We'll walk, and explore for you, this will be easier for the casual gamer to pick up and play with his buddies!" Resident evil 4 is getting very lonely representing the genre on the system after three years.

The reaction from the interwebs has been overwhelmingly bad. This was a poor move EA, very poor.

You can find me on facebook as Markus Van Rijn, if you friend me just mention you're from VGchartz and who you are here.

All of these new accounts popping up to whine about this game reeks of HD fanboys.

I think the point is that it is an On-Rails shooter. We already have RE:UC after that we have House of the Dead:Overkill. Then we already have Sin and Punishment 2(which should be awesome though) and now this.

3rd parties are showing a real lack of initiative and a cluttering genres up like party games, PS2 Ports and now Rail shooters.

They can't even keep consistent genres for franchises. Why release a non fighting Sould Calibur game? Castlevania fighting game..whatever. Instead of making new IPs they make crap games of differnt genres throw a franchise label on stuff and hope it sells.

Maybe it could turn out to be good and even if it does it is entering a crowded market of good On Rails games. However to me it looks like a cash in after last quarters results.

On Rails games should have better graphics BUT you lose immersion.

They're called "fakeboys" on GameSpot.

A fakeboy is essentially a fanboy of one console that pretends to be a (usually rather moronic) fanboy of another console in an attempt to make that console's fanboys look bad.

Though personally, the OP seems legit.

And this brings back so many bad memories of GameSpot's "System Wars" forum.  I can't believe I used to frequent that place.
