Did you play the original or Starfox 64? That's what they both were, minus 64's free range areas.

I could also go for another Panzer Dragoon.

No I have not played any StarFox game aside from a few levels of the GCN StarFox, Adventure I think it was.. Obviously a different style..

Sin and Punishment 2 seems kinda like an on rails shooter as well, haven't played the original..

Isn't Star Fox all about flying on rails?

EDIT: Even the flying parts on Adventures were on rails. You have a horrible memory. :P

It's basically like Sin and Punishment, if you played the first one!

All I remember is walking a round with some staff thingy and there being dinosaurs.. I never owned the game, either rented or played it at a friends house..

Most likely rented as I owned one of the 3 GameCubes sold in Australia :P

Rails shooters were big back in the day and outside of the Wii hardcores and the Arcades its not gaining much traction. I highly doubt it will be that big

Long Live SHIO!

1337 Gamer, you'd be suprised about the demographic that these games sell to.

They're selling to all my mates that upgraded to Wii from the PS2, i.e. the casual crowd.. They generally buy the sports games, GH, Mario Kart/Super Smash and they have one or two rail shooters in their collection because they think they're...

'hardcore!'

Not in the way many people here would but the casual definition. An old school game they see as 'Hardcore!' Recent examples have been HotD: Overkill and MadWorld.

look there are two different styles of game. I like the ability to see my character, 3rd person view like Starfox and SnP. The other one, the most popular now, is the classic arcade version.

Anyway puffy, you have got to get SF original and 64 versions, get em.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.
