Whatever dude. You are calling yourself a Star Ocean fan, a series that was never critically acclaimed, yet you react like this to one review score. This tells me enough about you.
Anyway, it's a meaningless discussion.

SO3 got an 81% on gamerankings and 80 on metacritic, isn't that high enough to be considered critically acclaimed.

Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.

Star Ocean 4 Game Informer Review (Scan).
Well, for those who rely on Game Informer reviews to base their purchasing decision, this one might be a rental for you. As you can plainly see on the scan, Game Informer gave Star Ocean 4: The Last Hope a 7/10. One of the reasons why it received this score? According to the review “The Last Hope is plagued by a number of problems”. Although the Xbox 360 has been churning out JRPG’s lately(Infinite Undiscovery, The Last Remnant), they haven’t had any real hits on their hands.
Regardless of the Game Informer review, we recommend that fans of the game wait for more reviews before making a judgment. Even then, at least play the game before you make a final judgement call. Remember, reviews are just opinions and plenty of reviews have been wrong about games.
