disney doesnt develop kh, se does. all disney does is help with making it disney and keep se from using disney characters in ways they dont want.


 

Disney own KH, Sora, Riku, Kairi, Org XIII, etc. and co-publish it.

 other than the fact that square owns all of kh and disney just helps with development funds (which se has plenty of) and gives se the rights to disney characters, it would be hard for se to make kh their own. 

on that note i think a game (not every game) without much disney and just kh originals in it would be awesome.  pure kh story, which i personally love and was way overshadowed by disney in kh2.  kh1 had it right, but now i want a game without any disney.

Why don't you understand this after it has been said MANY times? 

Disney owns: Every single original character made for the game Kingdom Hearts.  This includes all main characters, all villains, anyone not from a Final Fantasy game, and in fact the name Kingdom Hearts itself.

Square Enix owns: The Final Fantasy Characters.

That is the only part of this game that Square owns.  It's true that it's very unlikely that Disney would ever make a Kingdom Hearts game without Square Enix, but they are well within their rights to do so as long as they didn't use Final Fantasy characters.  Will that ever happen? No, but you seem to think KH is a Square game with Disney characters, but it's primarily a Disney game that they had Square develop for them. 

Anyway, I don't know where it would go, but the Wii is far from out of the question like some here seem to think.  It really COULD be just about anywhere.  Honestly I still expect it to be on the DS, but I reported the rumor because I thought it was interesting.

Disney already made a Kingdom Hearts game without SE. It was KH Mobile. I've mentioned it before.

I wish that Disney and SE said all KH would be PS3 only so that Soriku stop with all these annoying posts. But after looking at leo-j statements about Wii PS2-like graphics I wish SE only develop The Bouncer 2 and Drakengard Chronicles for PS3.

The game is half owned by square enix, and half owned by disney. They are partnered. They both "own" the game. Disney does have an exclusive development  studio for nintendo, but kh was developed by S-E not disney, so basicly thats were it slips from being on wii.

No... it really isn't.  That's why this game: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_Hearts_%28series%29#Kingdom_Hearts_.28V_CAST.29 was able to be made without any involvement from Square whatsoever.  SE owns nothing.  They developed the game, and were paid for their development, as well as a slice of the sales profits I'm sure, but KH is not SE's franchise.  It's Disney's.

Did you see how bad that game was? The kh team is S-E owned, if disney feels like making kh3 on the wii themselves that game would be horrible(like all disney games). Didint they have that studio out since 2005 though? KH2 was developed around that time and released exclusively on the ps2.

Would you give it up already?  Disney owns everything except the final fantasy characters which the series can do without anyways.  If Disney wants it on the Wii and Square refuses to make it for the Wii (which i really doubt would happen anyway) Disney can just ask another company to make it.  They could give it to Nintendo, Capcom, Konami, there is a huge list of developers they could give it to.

IGN gave it a 7.4.  They only gave KH2 a 7.6...

The point isn't that the game needs Square to be good.  I agree that SE is necesary to keep the series in tact,  but the fact is that Square has no rights to the series.

Well if Disney got all the rights to the KH series excluding all FF characters they should try to do one KH with all Nintendos characters. It would probably be even more popular. Monolith, Camelot or Intelligent System can all make very good rpgs.
