Forums - Sales - Deadly Creatures, Tenchu, & Onechanabara are bombing (according to Amazon)

Legs are always possible with Wii games but Deadly Creatures was doomed the moment THQ decided not to advertise..

Kids that love bugs would love this game. I know I would have when I was younger.. Not saying I can't enjoy it now but that market has a lot of potential with ads during cartoons and toys and stuff..

It's a shame they spent a lot of money on voice talent yet can't advertise or distribute the game with the same enthusiasm.

Deadly creatures is a special game, it will probably have great legs, something like De Blod, even if the launch is not successful, but it shops don't sell it, it's worse, like Mushroom Men.... : (

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

That's why I think it has a chance on the shelf.  A 10 year old boy sees a big ass tarantula and a scorpion fighting?  SOLD.

But if it's not making it to the shelves, that chance goes out the window.

And gamecock being purchased by southpeak breaks my heart.  I truly loved Mushroom Men, and since nobody but me bought it, I feel like it's MY Wii game.  Les Claypool wrote that soundtrack for me.

PC + Wii owners unite.  Our last-gen dying platforms have access to nearly every 90+ rated game this gen.  Building a PC that visually outperforms PS360 is cheap and easy.    Oct 7th 2010 predictions (made Dec 17th '08)
PC: 10^9
Wii: 10^8

According to Amazon? Ugh, haven't we been over this dozen's of times already. It should be a bannable offense by now.

uh... Onechanbara:Bikini Zombie Slayers is being used as a barometer by other publishers?

Dear my ... of course no. BTW is funny how people still think on games bombing on the Wii just for the first week after this:

http://vgchartz.com/games/game.php?id=25319&region=All

And this:

http://vgchartz.com/games/game.php?id=23991&region=All

and some others

Quite funny that you bring up WaW as some kind of example of a success story, when the the HD versions sold many multiple times as much as the Wii version on an identical install base. I wouldn't consider that very good...

I hope amazon's a poor metric here, we need these games to do good.

*sigh*

CoD:WaW launched to just 62k units.   It's at 880k now and still selling very well.   The fact the HD versions have sold more is irrelevant.  The point was to show that poor launch numbers don't mean anything on Wii.

It's not irrelevant. If a developer sees that one console with by far the largest userbase is only contributing a very small fraction of the sales, why should they even bother to create new IP's or even sequels for the system? Just because Wii sales are rising, don't make them good by any stretch of the immagination when talking about a huge franchise like CoD that has no issues selling 10 million plus on HD systems. Just because you got a 10 dollar pay raise on your 200 weekly salary doesn't make you affluent by anybody's standards. When you start at nothing, everything looks like a lot. In reality, CoD WAW Wii sales are still horrible next to the HD versions.

Why must people like you intentionally be difficult?

We're discussing how the first week of sales for a game on Wii cannot be used to gauge how well the game will do overall. One of the examples used is CoD: WaW. The reason it is used as an example is because it launched to just 62k sold in the first week. It has now sold more than 10 times that figure - 880k. The difference between launch and current sales is huge. Typically on a console if a game launches to just 62k for the first week it will have trouble selling over 200k lifetime. CoD:WaW will sell over 1.5 million lifetime.

Do you not understand how drastic that is and why it makes a good example for the topic at hand?
