Forums - Nintendo - Madworld will sell at least 1 million worldwide

The only way this game is going to cross 1m is if it's just plain FUN, addictive, can't-get-enough-played-it-at-my-friends-house-and-now-I'm-hooked-FUN. If it's just another brawler than it'll do okay numbers, enough to be profitable but otherwise might have made more on HD. If it's got that Pac-man addictive, simple, fun gameplay that anyone can enjoy then it's definitely on the right system, M rating notwithstanding and will sell better than anyone expects.

It will turn a profit, that's all that matters, hell there are games on these so called HD consoles that have sold millions and millions of games but have yet turn a profit.

Which is technically impossible. Even if dev's made only five dollars (trust me, they make more than five bucks on each copy) on each copy sold, games like CoD 4 would net them 50 million dollars which far exceeds production costs. So either you have no idea how much/little games cost to make, or no idea how much profit each copy sold nets the developer and/or publisher or you do know and you're just trying to make HD gaming sound like a profanity (like quite a few other in here tend to).

I chose the latter, I refuse to believe that you wholeheartedly believe that games that sell in the millions do not turn profits for developers.

If GTA4 cost 100 million to make and that does NOT include the advertising budget (a low estimate for that would be about 20 million) and the dev's only got 5 bucks per game they have only made back about 60 million$, or half of the total costs!

More accurately though, dev's make between 20-30 dollars off each disc, so they have made over 300 million back on their enormous budget.

I know that developers make more than a measly few bucks per copy sold, that was the entire point of the post.

People, do your part and buy it on day 1. :D

Well, i just cancelled my preorder. I cannot er WILLNOT buy a game in this day and age that is not 480p.  I made the concession to not have HD on the wii, but motherbuck if i will support a game that is rendered in 480i.  Alone in the dark was my last straw.  I never thought there was much of a difference in p and i renderings but the 480i was so damn obvious in Alone in the dark that im steadfast in never buying Madworld.  FU Sega, you almost had me this generation.

Sorry for my rant, but i read somewhere that the game will not support progressive scan. I was very agitated reading that.  I may reconsider if its 29.99.  Sega can blow me for 49.99.

Ill be patiently waiting for The Conduit.

I hope

you know, even IGN said they had no idea it was in 480i until they were actually told, right?

so basically your not going to get it because of the letter difference (i & p,) and not how it actually looks?

I will buy a million copies myself if I have to.

You should congratulate me. I destroyed the vile red falcon and saved the universe. I consider myself a hero.

Of course it will. I've been saying this all along. Look at the Sig.

And the comparisons between this and No More Heroes are bubkus. The difference in style, atmosphere and polish alone set it on a different level. Advertising and critical reception will bring it even higher.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

No shot. Of course this game will sell 1mil AT LEAST. With an install base of 46mil, it will. Only problem, most owners are kids or older people. Honestly, could sell 2mil at least for lifetime. Seeing as how bloody it is and its only black and white, this could be a hit sleeper.

I own a Wii myself and I will be getting this game if it gets good reviews [85+ Metacritic and/or IGN]

Battlefield Bad Company 2 > Modern Warfare 2
