It will turn a profit, that's all that matters, hell there are games on these so called HD consoles that have sold millions and millions of games but have yet turn a profit.

Which is technically impossible. Even if dev's made only five dollars (trust me, they make more than five bucks on each copy) on each copy sold, games like CoD 4 would net them 50 million dollars which far exceeds production costs. So either you have no idea how much/little games cost to make, or no idea how much profit each copy sold nets the developer and/or publisher or you do know and you're just trying to make HD gaming sound like a profanity (like quite a few other in here tend to).

I chose the latter, I refuse to believe that you wholeheartedly believe that games that sell in the millions do not turn profits for developers.

If GTA4 cost 100 million to make and that does NOT include the advertising budget (a low estimate for that would be about 20 million) and the dev's only got 5 bucks per game they have only made back about 60 million$, or half of the total costs!

More accurately though, dev's make between 20-30 dollars off each disc, so they have made over 300 million back on their enormous budget.

I know that developers make more than a measly few bucks per copy sold, that was the entire point of the post.
